Pros

Industry leader. Nice physical workspaces in divisional HQ.

Cons

Avery Dennison is obsessed with social justice. If you are female or a minority, you will be constantly reminded that you cannot compete on a level playing field. If you are male or white, you'd best keep your head down. The quickest way to end your career here is to disagree with the narrative. The amount of time spent talking and talking about racial and gender inequality is unbelievable. If we spent half of that time working to serve our customers better, perhaps our financial performance would be stronger. The great majority of women and minorities don't like what is happening either. When a female of minority gets a promotion, instead of feeling pride, we wonder if we truly earned it, or if we were advanced for a reason other than our ability. The affinity groups have carte blanche to accuse anyone of anything with no due process. I'm saddened by how we are killing what was once a great culture.

Pros

At first everyone seems so nice...

Cons

...then you learn that it's all a facade. Leadership is blind to employees while they focus on grinding out profits at the expense of OVERLOADING, OVERWORKING and OVERTURNING employees. You will have NO work life balance. You will be emailing in your sleep. You will be doing the job of three people because they don't care about culture, minorities or investing in people... they only focus on profits. No one did anything to me directly, I'm just speaking the truth in hopes for change! I have to work in this environment every day and are not able to spend time with my family because there is NO BALANCE! If you don't work constantly, you will be overloaded with email, you will fall behind on work, you will be pressured to do more and more just to try and keep up... you will never be able to take a vacation, and if you do, you certainly can't enjoy your family because you're always trying to keep up with emails. Your spouse will hate you, your children will resent you, your family and friends will never see you.

Pros

Nice colleagues and strong financial incentive packages

Cons

Allow managers to persist who are horrible people that destroy those around them. Lack of mentorship Very old style of management, hire and fire cycles, how much time you spend in your seat correlates to how good of an employee you are.
