Pros

It is in the dry, until a customer tosses something at you.

Cons

CDS is so poorly managed that they forced their workers to sign Arbitration agreements to keep their problems out of public court rooms, and so worried of their poor managers they also force No Class Action agreement that would make it so easy to make CDS pay for bad management. When they get caught, their managers attack the messengers and try to character assassinate them to keep them from saying anything else. It is a terrible place to work and the managers are accomplished bullies, that hate to do work, fire those that know the company rules better than their laziness toward work. CDS is a disgrace to Costco, and why Costco allows them in the buildings without being able to supervise them and offer open door procedures to CDS employees being targeted for harassment is just a sign that Costco is not the well managed place they advertise. CDS operated unsafe by not following sprinkler fire code regulations. CDS operated unsafely by allowing folk up carts to fall over in numbers that injured knees, bruised legs and toes. CDS served up nasty demo foods to Costco's customers contaminated with rusty metal and plating flakes of metal from wire cooking baskets. Violations of CDS management rules were common and Acts of Oppression by managers well out of control. Corrupt CDS managers form little clicks to make up things to character assassinate workers that file complaints. CDS demo products that are so unpopular that Costco's Customer spit them out. They serve high sodium, high sugar, and high carb foods that only make Costco Customer more like the fat photos of Wally World's Creatures fame. They set up goals for sales that can not be met for terrible tasting products. You will not find a more poorly managed outfit in the US. The regionals work out of their house, and there is no brink and mortal company out there. Mid and Upper CDS management has no idea of what really happens at the Costco store levels and such disconnected management makes for constant abuses. Do not even apply to CDS if you care for yourself.

Unfair pay and no benefits.

Pros

The only pro is that they are flexible when it comes to taking time off without pay.

Cons

Many cons, customers are rude, they eat and eat but don't buy anything and when you run out of product and more needs to be purchased, your sales quota increases. Customers bring their entire family to eat for free then get annoyed when you try to talk to them about the product you are selling. One customer told me to shut up and give him his sample. Another customer told my co-worker that she wouldn't buy the food because she didn't want to get fat like most Americans. She said, " I don't want to look like you." The customers try to take the samples while you are trying to cut them or prepare them. The pay isn't distributed fairly. There are many employees that get the easy work such as handing out candy, cookies, chips etc. because they either can't cook or are too old to handle the tough jobs. The rest of us have to cook raw chicken, raw Salmon, pork and other meats and deal with the stress of keeping everything sanitary and clean while the customer complains that they have to wait for the sample. There are times when we are required to demo multiple products at the same time while other just have to put chips in a cup.

Worldwide layoffs

Pros

Love the people at Costco Members and associates, Loved selling the products and telling people all the kinds of stuff they can do with it and the health benefits from it.

Cons

Unprofessional way of laying off 38.000 people with less then a weeks notice. Not given time to look for other employment. No benefits, no incentives, not even a farewell cake or supplement extra dollars per hour.
