Pros

The benefits are decent. The time off is good if you can use it. If you work sales here, vacation is more stressful than being at the office, as there is no support structure, and you come back to a pile of work.

Cons

The detailed reviews are accurate. Pretty much all of the 5 star reviews are effectively forced. If you notice, there is very little, if any detail. Bottom line, Liberty Mutual no longer wanted sales reps, so they broke us off into an agency. By the way, Liberty Mutual is no longer a good insurance company. They are nothing more than a mindless, pre-scripted mess of bad rates/claims/service. Comparion is owned by Liberty. Despite being the "largest agency in the US", we are completely incapable of getting any good carriers. Management is completely detached from reality, the quotas are unrealistic for most reps, and there is little if any hope that things will get better. I am a veteran rep here (15 years +). Most, if not all the reps I know across the country are miserable. If you want to win at sales, find another place to work. Here, you will be dogged by close rates under 20% and a parent company that seems determined to take your clients back via their online channel...and of course not paying you for it. You will also be faced with high quotas and extremely low renewal pay. I could go on, but you get the point. Maybe the day will come where this place is good again, but it is not now.

Pros

Good benefits. Work hard and you will make money. Good place to learn the insurance business. Value Diversity

Cons

The company is owned by Liberty Mutual and they transitioned all their Local Sales Office Agents to this "New Company" in 2022. Liberty Mutual/Comparion is essentially acting as a broker and placing customers with different carriers with the overall incentive to keep all business that comes in. The problem is the agent who sells this to the customers only gets paid a real commission once!! Once the existing customers rate goes up and they request the agent move them to another carrier the agent is paid a small1-2% commission on the deal and Liberty Mutual/Comparion keeps the BULK of the money. Its a vey one sided proposition that keeps a agent working HARD all the time! A real broker works for the customer not the Insurance Carrier (Liberty Mutual/Comparion) and they are paid a sizable commission every time they move the customer. Anyone who can drive leads in on their own is going to leave and start their own business and make REAL money. The only people who stick around are agents who are fed leads or lead sources by upper management. They also manage people out who are not selling rather quickly and usually don't give them enough runway to succeed.

Pros

WFH most of the time. Retirement benefits are good as well.

Cons

Monthly bonus and commissions have been lowered tremendously for 2023 (making 15-20% less compared to last year but being asked to produce more). They only have carriers for preferred clients, but have the highest quota in the industry. So unless you have mortgage lenders supplying you with endless leads, you better be grinding the phones because this is the toughest and least rewarding agency out there. Turnover is insanely high at the moment, people i thought I’d never see quit or tell me they’re looking elsewhere are coming out. It’s very political in the sense where they say everything is fine (or better than last year) and use manipulated or false sensing data to back their words. Stress is at an all time high and not healthy. I want to stick around as liberty was a good company to work for and was hoping comparion would follow suit, but sadly not even close. If you’re a potential hire, do not apply or accept an offer here until things get better and they start looking out for us
