Pros
I worked at DAT for over six years, ending in 2017. It used to be an amazing company with amazing people committed to doing their jobs well. I loved working here for about three of those years. After that, management seemed to do everything it could to destroy the company. And watching that downfall was one of the most painful professional experiences I've ever had.
Cons
In those final two years, I saw all sorts of bad things; absolutely insulting and arbitrary deadlines to the dev teams, who were then punished even as their projects were canceled. The hiring of a very small handful of workers that were manipulative and became favorites of management, even while they destroyed projects, and spread racism and sexism. All communication from Senior management down to the workers was steadily cut off until there was little to no communication at all. Key senior members left and were not replaced, for reasons that were unclear, but because there was little to no communication, the rumor mill ran absolutely RAMPANT, and an atmosphere of fear started to pervade the place. The new building was unasked for and unwanted and the open layout became one of the worst places I've ever had to work. There was no privacy, no way to work without feeling exposed, and rather than fostering teamwork, it fostered interruptions and poor behavior. Layoffs of good long term workers became the norm. It took me almost a year to heal from the damage done to me by this company. I am finally starting to realize looking back that DAT was one of the most toxic environments I have ever worked in. I do not recommend you work for DAT, at all in any capacity.
