Don’t practice what they preach

Pros

Good peers to work with

Cons

What attracted me to DoiT was the culture they had. I started the job and everything was going well. I took a job in a field where I had no experience which they knew and through out the process everyone reassured me and said it was okay that I wasn’t fully where I need to be. They told be to have grace with myself, to not beat myself up and that they get that it’ll take time. Fast forward 45 days later, I hop on a meeting with my manager thinking it was just to catch up and I was let go. I was told I wasn’t coachable and that I didn’t take the advice they gave me. First, I don’t agree that people aren’t coachable. Second, I took notes, participated in role plays, reached out to other colleagues for advice and practiced my pitch. You cannot accurately measure someone’s ability to perform in a sales job within 40 days. I was caught off guard with the lay off and I just would have appreciate it more transparency from them.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience - I understand that it can be very disappointing when an opportunity doesn't work out. We have a very structured onboarding plan for new members of our Sales Development team, with clear milestones in place to measure incremental process and a multitude of resources to support new team members as they ramp with us, including a dedicated BDR Coach. It typically takes new team members up to 90 days to fully ramp up but there are a number of early indicators we look at to gauge the likelihood of long term success in the role - in particular we look for early progress towards mastering our core messaging, processes, tools, value proposition, etc. We feel confident we make every effort to have open and candid conversations about any early concerns and needed process before making any final decisions and we wish you the best in your next role. -Kristen Tronsky, Chief People Officer @ DoiT

Pros

Some people are pretty great and it’s sometimes convenient to be remote.

Cons

Worked here for over 2 years and put in countless hours of overtime that never went recognized, not even a good job, nothing. No raise, no promotion and one year the bonus was 2/3 the full 10%. Got laid off 2 months before my wedding with no severance, thanks! They actually couldn’t even finish the meeting, my access was revoked and my laptop shut down completely in the middle of it.

Pros

Remote work, company swag, 401k.

Cons

This place is quite challenging, characterized by a significant disconnect between the proclaimed values of inclusivity and the management's lack of experience. While they promote the narrative of 'inclusion,' it seems that it only applies if you share the same opinions as them. Unfortunately, if you hold a different viewpoint, you may find yourself excluded. I was disheartened when I overheard a member of HR stating, 'We won't consider hiring someone who voted for Trump.' Such a statement raises concerns about discrimination. Shouldn't we strive for a workplace that truly embraces a diverse range of thoughts and viewpoints? Additionally, it is concerning to observe that the management has repeatedly disregarded company policies by permitting employees who have violated them to remain employed, despite numerous reports about their misconduct. Shockingly, one of these individuals was only removed from the company after being involved in a case of sexual assault. This raises serious concerns about the management's failure to address and prioritize the safety and well-being of their employees.

Interview conversations for all opportunities at DoiT focus solely on the job responsibilities and competencies needed to excel in the position. Our goal is to find the best possible mutual fit for everyone as we scale our team. Political affiliation, while not a protected class, is not something we discuss at all with candidates during interviews. But political, social and cultural differences do exist in the world, and any employees that choose to engage with each other on these topics are expected to be able to accept differences, respect one another, listen, and learn as part of participating in healthy discussions or debates. Our core values, policies and practices reinforce our deep commitment to equality, respect, honesty, integrity and open communication across all the people, countries and cultures that make up our incredible global team. That approach is non-negotiable, and it extends to our team, candidates and customers alike. The safety and well-being of our employees across the world has always and will always be a top priority a DoiT. Any Do’er with questions or concerns about our policies, practices, or potential violations report is strongly encouraged to reach out their manager, a member of our executive team, myself or another member of our HR Team, or use go/saysomething to submit a confidential report as soon as possible. Although infrequent, all reports of any violations of our code of conduct or other policies are investigated quickly and thoroughly, with clearly defined disciplinary practices and consequences for determined violations. Investigations are kept as confidential as possible out of respect for all involved, but our goal is always to do right by our team and stay true to our guiding principles. I’m confident that our actions and decisions reflect that and while I’m sorry you’re frustrated, it seems like you’ve received some incorrect information and I would really appreciate the opportunity to have a one on one conversation with you if you’re open to it.
