There are numerous opportunities to grow in technical, leadership, and management positions. You can switch between different clients and tech stacks, and if you are ambitious enough, you can advance smoothly in your career. There are also many initiatives you can participate in outside of project work.

Cons

The bureaucratic overhead is significant. It is easier to get hired at the next level than to get promoted to it from within the company.
