Pros

- Snacks and drinks when in the office - Depending on your manager, hours of work can be flexible - Free Yoga on Tuesdays - Office location is nice, lots of sidewalks and local restaurants - WFH is currently available due to pandemic (future policy unclear)

Cons

- Overall culture has sharply declined since the JMI investment in 2020. This was a fun, locally grown and intimate company, now it's cold, stuffy and very corporate feeling. -Goals and quotas that were influenced by JMIs consultants are simply unattainable. Have heard that marketing is now a call center and employees in that department are being extremely micromanaged. Every call must be recorded, only send approved emails, and there are many random zoom calls to “check in”. - Bloomerang used to be a workplace where suggestions and opinions were valued and respected. The CEO continuously asks for honest feedback, but I don't think it is truly welcomed. The standard response now (from several managers) is one that encourages employees to keep their thoughts to themselves and don't ask questions. I've heard managers make inadvertent employment threats for challenging the status quo. -While the PTO allotment isn’t bad, employees are discouraged to take long vacations for fear of missing quota and being put on performance review. - Bloomerang loves to market itself as a diverse workspace, but there are no people of color in my department or within the C-level staff. Leadership is all white, and majority male. - Bloomerang does not prioritize the career growth of long time employees. New promotions and opportunities are highly trending in favor of external candidates or employees of the recently acquired company. Female candidates are also considered second tier, from what I've seen.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review and give us your feedback. We’ve experienced incredible growth in the past year and we know that has felt tumultuous at times. However, this growth and development is also what allowed us to promote 45% of our employee population last year and invest in PD like leadership development training and manager training cohorts. One of our main focuses for 2022 is equipping our managers with the tools they need to lead effectively, and we genuinely feel we are developing a team of world-class leaders! - People Team @ Bloomerang

Pros

I've been at the business for over five years and have personally experienced the evolution of being at a founder-owned bootstrap business to the first transaction with a growth equity firm, to three acquisitions and another transaction with a private equity firm. Throughout that five-plus-year journey the business has consistently gotten better not only as an employee but as a provider to the non-profit market. We continue to raise the bar both internally and externally and I'm extremely proud to work at this company. It doesn't mean that individual days or weeks or even months along that journey were always easy or smooth but the one thing that cannot be argued with is that the business has been on a consistent upward trajectory since 2020.

Cons

It seems like we're still dealing with a vocal minority, a sub-5% of the employee base, that won't be happy with whatever we do and they're going to complain about AI use or focusing on growth. They detract from the exciting things that are happening at the company.
