Company values and morale has gone downhill - Anonymous employee Bright Horizons Family Solutions Employee Review

Pros

Within my team, pros included flexible scheduling and opportunities to expand within the position and beyond. Direct supervisors were always supportive.

Cons

The entire motto of Bright Horizons, at least internally, is that while the pay might not be as high as other places the "benefits" greatly outweigh that despite the fact that the healthcare options weren't great and they didn't cover as much as any other job I've had and since I didn't have children had no use for most of the other benefits offered. When I first started, there did appear to be a general sense of respect and following of the company's principals but that was thrown out the window a few years later leaving almost everyone feeling unsure of their position, unsure of the company, and giving free reign to people in higher positions the belittle and disrespect employees while Human Resources blatantly ignored valid complaints.

Pros

Do hire a diverse population of teachers in terms of age, gender ethnicity and orientation. Children as always are there if you're doing this job you love kids

Cons

Most sites do not offer a set consistent schedule, using rotating shifts. The lack of staffing and support will force staff to also never be able to plan things such as break time. Rigid with sticking only to curriculum from Company book even on days when severely understaffed. Even if you are hired specifically for a particular classroom where you are most familiar and best skilled to work, they will often push you into things such as infant or toddler even if you have physical limitations such as back, bending or carpal tunnel. Very inflexible about your PTO if it doesn't fit in
