      Pros

      Great work/life balance. Lots of opportunities for advancement and professional development, training.

      Cons

      Return to office mandate, which was governors requirement, but Caltrans seems to apply policy militantly. More so than most other departments. Little flexibility. This is a pretty big con for me.

      Stable, chances for advancement (dependent on location), more time off the longer you stick around

      Cons

      Heavy red tape, Analysts may be tasked with supporting way too many needy employees from their own and other units, low morale as a result.
