Pros

Pay was very good for the job. You can make a schedule of when you want to visit people. You can work 3-5 hours visiting 10-12 accounts and be home checking emails and dealing with issues by 1-2.

Cons

Where to start. First of all if you are a woman good luck in this role, the industry is very male dominated and even if you feel unsafe at a location management will tell you to go back for the business. The majority of upper management is all old white males who have been at the top for years. Very old fashioned and stuck in the past. They do no even have direct deposit. Upper management will follow you maybe once every 3 months and will give little to no feedback even if you ask for it. The only time you will get feedback is if sales are down. It is almost impossible to get sales in due to the bad name that we have out there. I lost too many accounts to count due to damages and shipments being delayed 1-2 weeks. We would not offer any kind of reimbursement. I lost an active shipper over a small mistake on the bill (driver error) and we let the business go for under $50. Majority of customers would not even give me the time of day, and when I found someone that was interested they had to fill out a credit app. Which is basically giving a stranger all of the banking information for the company before we could even give you a quote. Also the service is terrible, we offered next day lanes and on average instead of taking 1 day it was 4-5 days. Which lead to customers being upset and not giving us any more business. Advice that upper management gave was to just go look for more customers. Who cares as long as the customer is replaced. They do offer a bonus once you start to hit inbound/outbound sales goals. But you have to hit a min of 16 shipments even if you have a goal of 10 before they send you a bonus check 90 days later. Many of the goals are very unfair, some account managers had goals of 4-6 shipments and a month later they shot up to 14-18 shipments a week with no warning. While others have been floating around the same number for a while. Training was 2-3 weeks in MI, which was spent learning about the company and how to deal with issues that will come up. Very little was spent learning the systems or even how to sell the service. In the last 5 months 5-6 account managers have quit just in the OH,MI area. It all depends on the territory you have, some account managers would only work 1-2 days a week and would put up huge numbers because of the territory they were in. While others would go to 10-15 business a day and get no traction. If you have a location that has a lot of company HQ's in the area you will get all the benefits, even if the majority of shipments are in another persons area. Last but certainly not least are the benefits, no matter what "vacation" time you get subtract 6 days right away. They do not pay you for some holidays, like 4 out of 5 days for the week of Christmas. So it is either use vacation time or don't get a paycheck. Mileage reimbursement is .10 cents a mile which is very low I think currently .55 cents a mile is standard. No company phone either, and if you want a company car it will run you around 80-90 a week. I would stay away, plenty of other logistics companies that will actually give you benefits and will treat you like an actual person and not just another replacement,

We are very sorry to read of your frustration, but appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. We are always striving to improve, and will share your feedback with departmental leaders. We encourage you to speak with your supervisor, our Vice President of Sales, and/or Human Resources regarding your goals and mileage, as the numbers you cited aren't factual and we want to make sure that you have a thorough understanding of the incentive process and mileage reimbursement. Additionally, we would like to clear up any confusion you have regarding holidays - as we provide 6 paid federal holidays. We consistently research both vacation and medical benefits to make sure we are competitive in the marketplace. We want to ensure all of our team members are happy and are more than willing to discuss your concerns further.
