Pros

Centric has grown organically and thoughtfully over the past 15 years all the while remaining true to core values and principles which hold employee satisfaction in high regard. Even at several hundred employees, we strive to maintain a company culture where each employee feels at home and empowered to voice opinions and champion change where applicable. There are many opportunities for career growth whether it be opportunities to serve in different client facing roles or internal initiatives. Not everyone wants to race to the top and at Centric, you are not penalized for this and can have a fulfilling and rewarding career.

Cons

Centric is a virtual company. We have employees located all over the country and we have geographically organized Business Units which meet on a recurring basis and we meet as a firm several times a year. For those used to or looking for a place where you're surrounded each and every day by your Centric co-workers, the virtual model may present a challenge. We work primarily at the different client sites and much of Centric back office workings are virtual. This may be considered a "con" for those who aren't used to this type of environment or for those needing more corporate structure. Ironically, this is also a "pro" for many!

Thanks for the post and kind words. I agree with your Pros, Cons, and Advice. While the geographically aligned business unit employees are normally dispersed at clients or working from home, the business units typically try to get together as a business unit pretty regularly for updates and / or social events to build a sense of community, although the frequency and nature of these get togethers does vary from one business unit to another. Definitely a good topic for a recruit discuss with the business unit leadership, so you can make sure it's right for you. We do have a two business units (ERP and our Energy & Utilities practice) that are not geographically aligned (employees live across the country). It is definitely more challenging for these business units to meet frequently as geographically aligned business units, and something that should be taken into account if a recruit is considering joining them. The leadership of these business unit's work harder to have more communication with individuals and project teams, but it's definitely more challenging for these BU's to build that sense of community. Again, a good topic of discussion for a recruit to have with the business unit leadership. Sincerely appreciate your post! Dave

Pros

I've been in consulting long enough to know the difference between a company that talks about culture and one that actually lives it. Centric is the latter. I've seen reviews saying Centric is more focused on clients than on employees. Here's my honest take: it's a business. Clients matter; that's not a flaw, that's how consulting works. But what I've found at Centric is that caring about clients and caring about your people aren't in conflict here. They go together. What keeps me here is pretty simple. I can show up as myself. Not a polished, corporate version of myself — actually myself. That might sound like a small thing, but if you've worked somewhere that didn't feel that way, you know it's not small at all. The culture is genuine. Leadership is accessible and real. Work-life balance isn't just a talking point; there's a real expectation that you have a life outside of work, and that's respected. I'm proud of what we're building. I'm proud of the team I get to lead. And I'm genuinely happy to be here. Not because every day is perfect, but because this is a place where I can do meaningful work and still be me. If you're evaluating Centric, come in with clear eyes. It's consulting — it's not always easy. But if you want a place where the culture is real, the people are great, and you don't have to leave yourself at the door, it's worth a serious look.

Cons

Like any company, there are areas where growth is still happening. Account management can sometimes lean on older, relationship-first models in which success is measured by tenure and familiarity rather than outcomes and innovation. In a market moving as fast as ours, that approach can feel slow. Clients expect more than a trusted face. They want partners who bring new ideas to the table, not just execute the same playbook. The good news is that the appetite for change is real. But if you're someone who wants to lead with innovation and push the boundaries of how work gets delivered, be prepared to advocate for it. The shift from traditional account management toward a more forward-thinking, AI-enabled delivery model is happening, and there's genuine momentum. It just doesn't always keep up with the technology.

Pros

There are some very talented people who work at Centric. The pay is good and the benefits are good.

Cons

First off, the 5 star reviews are because they did an internal campaign and incentivized employees to complete the reviews. They bring in the big guns to sell services, then send whoever is available and not on a project to work for that project. All of the best people are cherry picked for the projects by someone who likes them and wants to work for them. Then as a Manager, we are left with people who aren't always 100% capable of the job. I witnessed a new project kickoff and the client kick the team out by day 3 because the people weren't as described. It's a good ol boys company and if you are tight with the drinking buddies who run the company, you are set for life.
