Pros
1) Well aligned executive team: The C-Suite work well together and present as a team to the greater organization, which contributes to building a collaborate culture. They are approachable and care about the success of each individual employee @ Certinia. Highly experienced, but still humble. 2) CRO is a hands-on, dynamic coach: It’s not uncommon to see him out on the sales floor engaging with his teams! He frequently makes trips globally, as well. His coaching skills are top notch and applicable to any professional looking to grow, not just sellers alone. He is appropriately involved in the day-to-day of his org and genuinely understands his teams. QBRs/coaching sessions/deal reviews are expertly run. He sets a positive example of how to lead with intention, give/receive feedback, and align global teams…..and, have fun + laugh along the way. 3) Certinians are solution oriented and highly professional: very collaborative cross-team stakeholders. Current team members are accountable, communicative, and always considering how they can be “1% better every day.” Enablement is a “team sport” and this is something I appreciate. 4) Supportive environment for parents with generous paternity/maternity leave benefits: Certinia “walks the walk” when it comes to supporting new Moms and Dads. I am extremely grateful for the support I received when I had my first child. There are MANY parents in leadership positions and family is valued across the organization, which was comforting as I navigated the transition to parenthood. The support I received during my time pregnant was unsurpassed and motivates me to give 150% as I return to work. 5) Investment in in-person collaboration: I really enjoy a hybrid working environment and personally, find a lot of value in having a physical office space in ATX. In person connection yields higher levels of collaboration, team work, and supports overall productivity. For employees who are fully remote, the company also makes investments in in-person team offsites, too. 6) My direct supervisor is creative and wicked smart: she gives me the agency to lead my team, and balances this with guidance and strategic feedback. I enjoy working for her and with her. 7) Clearly articulated priorities and KPIs: on the company and the team level, we know what we’re working towards. If something changes, we know why and the purpose is clearly articulated. 8) Opportunity for career growth: as the company grows, opportunities for career growth, new roles, opportunity naturally surface. A mentorship program is also in place to invest in talent. There is a clear investment in internal mobility.
Cons
Certinia is agile and a high growth company. The organization is open to feedback from employees + willing to evolve as needed in order to meet and exceed the expectations of their prospects/customers. They do this with scalability and sustainability in mind. I would consider the ability to make changes as needed a "pro" in business. It's necessary for competitive differentiation in our space. My body of work is fulfilling and challenges me to think critically. That said, if you're seeking a status quo, 9-5 job where your body of work is the same tasks day in and day out.....the above could be considered a "con" for some working styles. Certinia can, and often does, make changes at a faster pace than other competitors in our industry.
