Pros

Flexibility of schedule. You have the opportunity to really impact the lives of consumers with special needs and their families.

Cons

Please don't read into the reviews that have been posted recently. It is true that employees including upper management, BSCs and TSS are constantly leaving due to terrible treatment of staff. FBR has no loyalty to their employees or families. Here are some of the factors that make FBR a bad place to work: - No room for advancement and little or no opportunity for raises. People didn't get a raise for two years. Mangement came in to several team meetings telling staff about raise and bonus opportunities that never occurred and ended up being lies. - Really bad benefits - Constant turnover with staff and management. Every time you would get familiar with a manager or staff they would either have their job title or role changed or they would be transferred to another office or they quit. - The company is very disorganized and staff receive poor training opportunities. Staff is pretty much just put out in the field and has little idea of what they are doing. Due to the paperwork requirements being so intense and the learning curve being so high staff will either quit before going out in the field or quit within the first 6 months of employment. - You don't receive the appropriate pay for the amount of hours you worked. There was about 5 hours a week of paperwork that you didn't receive compensation for. There was even a time a couple years ago that the company had to settle with the department of labor due not paying their employees the correct overtime they owed them. -The corporate office doesn't take in account any of the concerns of field staff. The field staff are the ones that provide direct services to the families and are the back bone of the company. When field staff discuss concerns or constructive criticism of ways to provide a better service they are brushed aside or listened to but nothing is done beyond that point.

We are sorry to read that you had such a terrible experience working at FBR for so long. It looks like you were employed with us for over 5 years which is a very long time to be that miserable at work. I'd like to take some time and address each issue you have brought up because I feel they are not true interpretations of what FBR represents. The title of your post stating to read the posts before July 2016 and the reader will get a more insightful view of FBR is unfair. We truly believe that is a misrepresentation of the company and if all employees felt that way, FBR would no longer be in business. FBR has recently started to talk to their employees about this messaging and giving an honest account of their experience here so far. Before July 2016, employees were not given this suggestion, therefore the only people who were filling out reviews were disgruntled employees or ex-employees. The reviews that are being accounted for starting July 2016 are accounts from current employees who enjoy coming to work and working with their co-workers and families that they help. To address your "no room for advancement" piece, we are constantly looking for talent within the company so that we can promote from within. Most recently, we have had a large number of internal employees apply and receive promotions from their hard work and dedication to their jobs. We believe that our employees are the key to our success! As for raises and benefits, FBR offers competitive benefits for full time and part time regular staff members that include, health, dental, vision, and supplemental life insurance. We also offer a 401k plan as well as a yearly review to go over wage increases. We have recently rolled out one of our productivity incentive plans that a lot of our current employees are enjoying taking advantage of. Consistency in management is something we are working on. The main reason for a lot of those changes is because we have over 30 office locations that we currently staff. When a position becomes available that is closer to an employee's house or is a step up in their career, they are free to apply. We never discourage employees from applying to other opportunities. Changing roles is a normal thing in today's workplace. As the needs of the business change, the employees must also learn to roll with those changes and adapt to the new needs. This is something you will experience in any company. At FBR, we are constantly striving to come up with new training ideas. We encourage our current staff to let us know what they need so that we can come up with solutions on how to improve their experience. This is an ongoing program and one that any good company does for their employees. We also encourage employees to voice their opinions and concerns about what they are seeing in the field and how they think we can improve a service or process. We encourage anyone to contact their direct supervisor or HR if they have a suggestion. It is unusual that an employee would work at a company for over five years, yet be this unhappy with the company. Your advice to management would lead us to believe that you may have recently had a bad experience which led you to post such a negatively skewed view of FBR, which is very unfortunate. FBR HR is dedicated to making sure the comments and concerns on this site, as well as other sites, are taken seriously, while also weeding out the grossly unfair outliers that some people choose to post to tarnish the company name. Practices like reaching out to Alumni of FBR are a useful recruiting tool. Turnover in any company is natural as well and something that all companies deal with. Some leave on positive notes and others not so much. FBR has a continued commitment to their people as well as their consumers. We recognize the positive impact our employees have to the cause that we strive to support and work to ensure they are aware of their importance. We wish you luck on your next endeavor. -Thanks, C.J.
