Pros

-The people are 100% the reason people stay at EVERFI for as long as they do. No doubt the best employee base you will ever have the pleasure of working with. -Casual workplace with fun events that happen in the DC office

Cons

-Co-founders are too involved in make huge company changing decisions, but aren't involved enough in the day to day operations to make those decisions strategically. -CEO pretends he loves transparency, but goes about every meeting like he's leading a pep rally and just rambles or hops over any of the negative things happening in the company. -Rest of the exec team tip-toes around the co-founders and CEO afraid to stand up for anything and let's not well thought out ideas/re-orgs/promotions get put in place. -It's not uncommon to see people that work closely to the co-founders skip from manager roles to VP roles, the favoritism is INSANE and despite the millions of reviews that say that it continues to happen. -"Yes" people get significantly further here than people that openly voice their opinions and ideas. -I have a feeling the management is writing positive reviews on here after every negative one that comes in.

Pros

Consistent and reliable payroll; never had an issue with receiving pay on time. Strong sense of camaraderie among the frontline staff. The peer-level culture is supportive, and I’ve worked with some truly talented, kind individuals.

Cons

Contradictory Corporate Narrative: There is a frustrating disconnect between the "Best Place to Work" internal messaging and the reality of constant benefit reductions. While leadership publicly praises the culture, they are simultaneously cutting the very things that make a workplace sustainable. Declining Total Rewards: Benefits have been consistently scaled back and are now both expensive and limited in coverage. Combined with pay reductions and the elimination of bonuses, the "total compensation" package is no longer competitive. Product Stagnation & Misleading Sales: Internal development has stalled, yet Sales and Leadership continue to market the product as "thriving." It appears the focus has shifted entirely to "polishing" the company for a potential sale rather than investing in the product’s long-term health. Management by Negative Reinforcement: All-hands meetings are frequently used to suggest that staff efforts are "never enough," despite the fact that remaining employees are now covering the roles of those lost in multiple rounds of layoffs.
