Pros
I joined GRAIL because of it's mission, and I stay because I believe GRAIL will accomplish it. Yes, there has been a few setbacks. It was especially painful to see our stock get cut in half, but that was due to a market overreaction to a "failed trial". The trial was actually very successful in proving the test's credibility. Unfortunately, the primary goal needed more time to bare out. I was happy to see that our benefit premiums had very low increases despite the current market shifts. What GRAIL lacks in the way of career advancement, they do try to make up for in other ways. We have had some challenges with cash burn in the past, but we now have investors who have given us a cash runway until 2030, and our new CEO, who is replacing our current one in June, is well respected, a doctor, and has a good head on his shoulders. I'm excited to see what new era he will be driving us into.
Cons
I am in agreement with the folks saying that senior leadership needs to be improved. They often spend too much time on things that don't move the business forward. Some leaders are more effective than others, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease. There have been some rollbacks of certain benefits I had found very attractive, such as the loss of our summer week. The entire company shut down for 2 weeks out of the year, but now we have reduced that to the 1 winter week. Also, there had been more flexibility to work from home, but now there is the expectation that if you live near an office you have to come in at least 2 days per week.
