Pros

My co-workers were awesome. The facility was decent. Plenty of parking.

Cons

- Political Circus - Shameful Benefits - Heartless Organization - High Turnover - Pay is below market rate - Plenty of layoffs Actual Things that took place while I worked there: - Most times when employees traveled to conferences they were not able to stay at the hotels where the conferences took place. They were instead instructed to book a cheaper hotel outside of town and rent a car to drive to the conference. (I'm not kidding) - Employees were laid off on employee appreciation day. ( you can't make this stuff up) - Company announced a separate massive layoff and explained they were selling the building as a cost-saving initiative. In the same announcement the company also announced they were building a more expensive building in Atlanta. - The company allowed departments to hire new employees the same week they announced that all employees were losing their jobs (still not kidding). -

HD Supply Response

Thank you for your feedback. It is disappointing to hear that your experience was not consistent with our values as a company. We understand that talented associates are the heart and soul of HD Supply, and we know they drive our success. We do not take any of our business decisions lightly, and we know our decisions can impact people’s lives. As we shared earlier this year, we made the strategic decision to move our San Diego headquarter office to Atlanta, and, regrettably, when you make these types of transitions, you often lose good people who have made significant contributions to our success. We appreciate your service and will share this feedback with the leadership team as we continually strive to improve. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

- No cold calling - Mileage paid for - Once a year Sales kick off - It is a job

Cons

Unbelievable amount of work. I thought my primary job was to go out and meet with facilities managers and property managers to sell. In addition to that, you will also be expected to help handle billing issues, warehouse issues, delivery issues, delivery driver issues when they conflict with customers, being called for product specifications and expected to research thoroughly, handling ridiculous amount of tasks in Salesforce because upper management says so, and this is on top of visits to six properties per day. Imagine being given 100+ accounts with 10 calls at any time within the hour while you are in a meeting with a customer. I consider myself tough with a high tolerance for difficult times - I was completely burnt out. I stopped caring when everyone had a fire they needed put out and my phone was ringing nonstop. You will not be able to develop close relationships with how busy you will be and that will affect your numbers. Also, raises for my team were 2.5% for the past few years on top of bragging about record profits at the sales kick off FYI.
