Kwik Trip treats its employees like family, however, there can be a lot of emotional manipulation and SLs will either make or break your experience. At my store, there was a constant feeling of not being good enough - we were given so many tasks that they became impossible to finish unless we stopped serving our customers. In my case, I was coaching other new-hires (same paygrade) on tasks, and then getting an earful at the end for not doing everything. Your hours of availability won't be respected and you will be reviewed for how often you cover your coworker's shifts. For my coworkers, something I often saw was they would become the SL's new "favorite" until a couple months later when they decide to start cracking the whip again and writing them up for tiny mistakes. It was very manipulative. Eventually, I told myself $15/hr wasn't enough to keep subjecting myself to this.
