Pros

The clients at your location are great.

Cons

Female employees are required to look "date ready" . Heels are required at all times. . Lack of transparency in the operations of company, especially as it pertains to the near constant turn-over. Poor pay and poor benefits. No 401k, healthcare plan is the bare minimum. They do promote from within, but there is really only one position you can get promoted to, which only adds $2 more dollars an hour and MUCH more stress and responsibilities, then it dead ends. Upper management feels like a sorority in which there is heavy favoritism.

Pros

It's been a great opportunity to build strong relationships and gain valuable experience in community engagement, member relationship management, conflict resolution, and sales. I've also further developed skills in sales and project management. The incentive structure is rewarding, especially for Community Managers. Upper management has been supportive and approachable; they genuinely listen and provide guidance when needed.

Cons

You wear many hats in this role, and it can take time to find your rhythm; speaking from experience after moving from a Community Coordinator to Community Manager within 7 months. Communication is really important here; having a good line of communication with upper management, mentors, and sister center(s) makes a big difference in how supported you feel. High expectations comes with wearing many hats (both as a CC or CM), so it's important to set clear goals for the day/week and lean on your support system for assistance/guidance. Even with the incentive structure, I think the base pay could be more competitive. Turnover can be a challenge in some locations, but maintaining a good team culture and leadership support helps balance that out.
