Pros
Industry leading salary for exempt employees. Company is booming. Rapid expansion makes room for upward mobility. Saving lives.
Cons
Low salary for non exempt employees. When you pay near minimum wage, you get minimum wage talent. Lack of employee competency puts more work on your managers (covering for call ins, increased quality errors, unhappy employees giving poor customer service). When McDonald's is paying more to flip burgers, you really need to reexamination your compensation policies. Too much autonomy/inconsistencies from region to region. Really depends on who is your regional director and how they manage so its luck of the draw. Regionals are overworked! Give more responsibility/power to your field quality managers! Lots of "managing by the spreadsheet". You will have company wide goals (processing times, labor etc.) that you are held accountable for but every center is different and has its own barriers. Real corporate disconnect here. The only way you can have the same goals for every center is if they were all built the same. Donors will threaten your life and/or cause a huge scene when they cant donate due to out of limit vitals. Had to bring in armed security, No schedule privileges for center directors. Opening shifts at 530am and closing shifts can be as late as 10pm. Must work weekends. Manager expected to be in the building at all hours of operation so if you are ever short an assistant manager, expect you and your other AM to be working 55+ hour weeks. This seems to be a common issue company wide and your regional will think its no big deal. Manager training for an external hire takes a minimum of 6 months...unacceptable.
