Pros

-Collegial and caring culture with a big emphasis on socializing/networking -Bright and friendly colleagues who are largely laid back and easy to work with -Transparent, approachable, and highly accessible senior management -Impressive portfolio of clients given the firm's size and age, particularly in the financial services, retail, and technology industries. -Excellent PTO benefits with employees starting at 20 days per year -Great work-life balance for consulting (I typically worked about 45 hours per week)

Cons

-Biggest con with Protiviti is the work itself. The vast majority of projects are internal audit or compliance related which is not the type of work that bright, motivated people in "consulting" want to do. Projects are rife with absurd grunt work which is tedious, boring, and frustrating all at the same time. The firm is trying hard to diversify its solution offerings into more true management consulting work, but the pace of change isn't quick enough for many. -The firm wants to position itself as a premier consulting provider, but refuses to spend like one. Practice employees are forced to perform ridiculous amounts of administrative project work because the firm's infrastructure is lacking and support employees in functions like practice management, finance, accounting, marketing, and travel are minimal. The firm also pushes worthless certifications over MBAs. Proprietary research/market databases and other tools you would expect of a top-tier consulting firm are also non-existent. -Brand recognition continues to lack in the marketplace which can be frustrating. Despite its success, the firm hasn't invested much in large-scale branding or marketing efforts, which I believe to be a mistake. Sponsoring dinners and conferences only gets you so far. -Promotions are basically guaranteed every two years. This is great for those who deserve it, but it also means that there are a lot of unimpressive people (with no experience except internal audit) in management positions.

Thank you for your feedback. We agree that our people are one of the best aspects of working at Protiviti, and we are glad that you enjoyed our unique culture while you worked here! With regards to the type of work that we do, while internal audit is certainly a huge component of our business, we continue to explore other areas within business and technology risk to diversify our solution offerings. As a growing firm, we are also investing in our infrastructure and taking ongoing actions such as rolling out a new financial system that will ease administrative burdens. We remain focused on building a strong team that will enhance our culture as we grow. Again, thank you for your feedback, and best of luck on your future endeavors.

Pros

Good WLB Great Bosses Health insurance & benefits are awesome Very flexible workforce Easy to climb up in promotions

Cons

Pay is below standard (Although I feel you still get paid decently for the area) If you're put on a production project, be ready to feel stuck. Management is very lost on where they want to head into the future. I am worried this company won't last much longer (Former arthur anderson) Can feel clique-y at times amongst peers (but this is not a problem of the company specifically)
