Pros

It is growing quickly so they are trying to accomplish a lot as soon as possible which means you get exposed to many different initiatives

Cons

I honestly had no idea that such a toxic workplace could exist. There is absolutely no professionalism at this organization. There were continuous situations where sexual jokes, racial jokes, mental health jokes, and crude humor. The corporate staff speaks to each other and to their vendors in a disputable manner. I never even felt comfortable going to HR because people would talk about how they’d just spread the dirty laundry once they had a few drinks. This place loves to gossip about anyone and everyone. They have no respect for anyone. This company genuinely does not care for you if you aren’t a broker or underwriter. Working at corporate you are expected to be the backbone of the organization with little recognition or reward. Your pay will be under industry average. Any major change projects would be pushed back by the brokers who are treated like gods. The politics of this place is absurd. Imagine a reality TV show of entitled, pretentious, rich white men who think they are too good to speak to you. Brokers even try to expense things like strip clubs as business expenses. If you are looking to work at RSG, look to work under the RT or RSGUM segments. You are expected to work insane hours and then get judged if you don’t. People would laugh about how salaried employees “should be working 70 hours a week”. I began working here as an intern actually and on my second week my boss asked my colleague “when is she going to stop asking questions?”. They do not onboard you well or train you well. They expect you to just pick it up and run with it and then discredit you entirely once you fail. Executive leadership is unapproachable. They sit on an isolated floor and as a regular employee, you should not interact with them. Unfortunately, there is only one black man in an executive role at corporate and he was just brought on last year. Executives scream at each other and bad mouth one another. I would highly recommend not working for corporate at RSG. Most people hate being there and feel stuck. The turnover rate is really high and employees are transactional to them. They will not invest in you.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your time at RSG. We are growing rapidly and glad to hear that you were provided opportunities to participate in many of our growth related initiatives including your own professional growth from starting as an intern to becoming a manager within 3-4 years. We are sorry to hear that your overall experience has not lived up to your expectations, or the high standards we set for ourselves. The work environment you describe is certainly not in line with our Company values. We take your concerns seriously and strive to provide an environment for employees to foster a positive work experience which has resulted in lower than industry standard turnover. Wishing you continued success in your career.

Pros

Big company and great benefits.

Cons

Its luck of the draw. Either you get a great team with great mentorship, or you end up in a role focused primarily on operations with limited opportunities for advancement.
