Pros

The stated mission of the company to impact health.

Cons

1. Stated mission is varnish: there's no interest to help patients. Only to generate money at all cost 2. Zero ability to impact: Only one person makes decisions - the CEO 3. No independence: Independent thinking and creativity are quickly suppressed 4. Fear driven: Employees are driven by fear 5. Salaries and compensation are abysmal: significantly lower than industry standards 6. No benefits: free coffee. That's it. 7. Very high employee churn: significantly higher than normal 8. Poor employee treatment: when they disagree or are no longer needed, they are thrown out the door 9. IPO lure: just to try and attract the best talent

Pros

The people. A job, and ultimately a career is built by the people you work with, and SG has some of the most amazing people I have ever worked with or for. I am inspired by the hard work of my colleagues here who constantly challenge me to be my best. Everyone here is in a position to contribute beyond their job description, which (to me) makes every day interesting and keeps me motivated. Working with teams across the globe.

Cons

As an organization still very much in the entrepreneurial phase, prospective employees need to consider how much structure they need or are used to. While I personally thrive in less structured, more agile environments, it's not for everyone. We often have to roll up our sleeves and get work done that other, larger, companies often have big teams to assist with. But you have to like owning what you do every day, and knowing that your personal contributions are making a real difference every day. Time zone challenges, too, sometimes are tough to manage.
