Tecolote is an outstanding company with great employees, leadership, benefits, and growth potential.

Its only limitation is that it is a niche company, but they are the best at what they do.

It is pretty rare to find an employee owned company in the defense space, and so if you have the chance to interview here, do it. Employer paid health premiums, 15% automatic retirement contribution (not a match- just free money) plus free equity. Work life balance is solid although it will depend on your team.

Salaries are low to account for benefits- you absolutely will get paid more for the same role at another company. Company is also a slow and careful mover. You will watch your stock options appreciate in value slowly when you know they could be going faster. But it is safe. Not much room to grow quickly without relocating
