Pros

Flexible hours We were able to wear jeans

Cons

They do not believe in paying a fair wage to their employees. They do not give performance reviews. In the time I worked at the company I asked several times for a raise and was told that the company was not doing well and they could not give out raises. In the first few years I believed it. But I soon learned that this was the statement that they always told to the little people. No raises were ever given unless you were a Manager or gave notice to leave. If you are a man they will give you a raise if you go head to head with the big boss. If they let you go they keep all of your vacation and no severance package is given. If want to work with people screaming at you and never getting a raise this is the place for you.

Management Response: It’s always unfortunate when a company has to part ways with a long-time employee. Emotions often run high, making it difficult for the employee to be objective. We’d like to point out that during the last 5+ years, Thrive Mortgage (formerly Georgetown Mortgage) was recognized numerous times and recently named a 2019 Best Places to Work in the nation by Glassdoor and will be receiving another similar national award to be announced in January 2019. In addition, our employee surveys indicate appreciation for fair and generous pay scales, a great work environment and company policies that are in line with standard state requirements. We’d be remiss if we didn’t address the false allegation regarding inequality for women - Thrive has been recognized as one of the Top 50 Best Companies for Mortgage Women to Work and has more women in upper and mid-management roles than many of our competitors. Lastly, while not all employees may have received a revised mandatory Employee Performance Review implemented this past year, it’s inconceivable that a supervisor and employee would not have had informal discussions regarding job performance in a five-year span. In any event, we welcome all feedback as we “strive to thrive” and be a better company.

Pros

They listen. I get to be a part of every decision. If I don’t like something, I get to learn why we do it a certain way and then participate in making it better.

Cons

Wish I had found sooner in my career. Many of us have said the same thing.

Pros

Team work environment. The culture was highly supportive for employees to collaborate and assist each other. There was always someone available to answer a question or assist with a task.

Cons

High department management turnover. I do not know why, but every year there was a new manager.
