Pros

Work load is fine, co-workers are fine. Pay is good, benefits are good, pto is good.

Cons

Hybrid sucks. I really wish they had reconsidered the hybrid policy and having us come back to the office. A lot of us have changed the way we live for the last few years and finding child care in a month is not feasible for everyone. I feel less productive in office as there are many people and it’s loud! At home in my office is quiet, I can work independently as I’ve done for years and see no reason to return. If they’re worried about us seeing coworkers and managers, let us come in 1 day a week with our whole team to “bond”. Cafe is expensive so bring your lunch. Covid policy is non existent. Open desks is not a great policy. I really don’t want to share a desk with someone else and I’m not convinced they’re cleaned when we aren’t there.

Pros

Everyone I work with here is great - friendly, dedicated, hard working, professional, but also fun. The company is very aware that their employees are people. They encourage us to use our time off. We have mindfulness trainings. Our medical plan includes things like 8 free therapy sessions and free visits with a lawyer for consults. Also, I genuinely get the sense that Travelers is a good company. We are encouraged to volunteer. When we do, they award us $20 for every hour of community service worked, and that money can be used to donate a charity of our choice. Then, Travelers will match the money that they already gave us. The leadership is working to be zero emissions by 2030 and I believe they will do. It's a great place to work. There are so many different business units, departments, and offices in this company that if your role isn't fulfilling you can probably find another position that will be a good fit. You are also likely to find another office in the country if you have to (or want to) move. The company is very open to people finding the right place for them.

Cons

Everyone has a very full plate. It's not an insurmountable amount of work but it will keep you very busy. We also require at least 3 days per week in office in my region, but honestly, it's nice to back in an office with people. You will likely pay more for benefits here but they have different plans depending on what you're looking for.
