Pros

A lot of the people are really nice and work very hard despite an exhausting environment. Transparent about company finances.

Cons

I’ve never worked so hard just to accomplish so little. I thought the culture and benefits was good when I joined, but both seem to be going downhill fast. Poorly rolled-out layoffs without proper warning or decent severance. Many backwards and incredibly wasteful processes that everyone has basically given up on improving or even understanding, because when they try they get burned. Overburdened IT department that only knows the word “no”.

Thank you for your feedback, it's much appreciated. We offer our employees multiple ways to provide ideas or advice. For example, reaching out to Human Resources or taking advantage of Epson's confidential Blue Line is always an option. Epson is very proud of our culture and believes in continuous improvement. Thanks again.

Going Downhill Fast

Pros

Good people. Good but rapidly declining corporate culture. Strong IT team that is overworked but willing to work with you as a true partner. Creative marcomm team that gets a lot done given the resources they have. Strong channel relationships and generally well-thought of in the industry.

Cons

I understand that many companies have been going through layoffs and I have been through layoffs in the past at other companies. Epson lost a lot of credibility when the CEO said in an all-employee meeting that there would be no layoffs, and then weeks later instituted a very poorly executed and communicated layoff process. Even our VPs did not know the full extent of actions taken after all of the layoffs were supposed completed. There has been no communication regarding the future of the company. Stale back office teams that are stuck in the past and don't want to change - sales operations, finance in particular. Not enough sales and marketing support from Japan and they are too slow with everything from product development to support.

Pros

People are genuinely nice, but the company continues to degrade them. So sad seeing people who were so full of excitement and new ideas just giving up, and in no fault of their own other than for the toxic and micro managing management.

Cons

I worked over 60 hours a week last year and didn’t get lunch breaks...if you don’t, you’re told you aren’t committed to the organization. I even didn’t go to my grandma’s funeral so I could give a presentation, which ended up being canceled that day anyway. The CEO is very vocal he’s watching every swipe you make to come/go from the building. They want people in the office more yet create a toxic culture and environment, so instead of being burnt out from home, you have to sit in traffic and be burnt out and uncomfortable then go home and continue working even later into the evenings than we did before. Management does not care at all about your time. I had to redo an assignment over 9 times based on a Director being indecisive and constantly changing their mind, for it to end up going back to what the first version was.
