Pros

Really good benefits globally. The company is performing well and the technology is relevant in their end markets.

Cons

Jill DeGrasso, Maureen Polte, Maia Tahista, Ann Reist, Joni Ferneau; Trina Gizel - what do they all have in common? They were senior women leaders at Flexera that left because of the current leadership at this company. This place needs a serious leadership change, starting with the top. If you are a "middle aged" woman, you are going nowhere here.

Pros

Nice office space, smart people, fair pay, some good perks (but hard to actually attain—like a carrot waived in front of you for temptation but rarely tasted).

Cons

Bureaucracy, politics, greed, favoritism, no job stability/security, no communication or honesty from management, lack of trust; insecure management with little to no care for their employees besides the end result

Pros

Some interesting people, I like most of them.

Cons

The biggest problem at Flexera is the new "product" (it's not a product). Over the last 4-5 years Flexera has bought several small companies to acquire new technology. Literally none of them talk to each other. Internally we discuss this problem everyday. However, to our customers, we lie. We sell a vision, not a solution. We recently released Flexera One. It looks great, but it's a joke with no real functionality. It is not a single platform that manages the entire IT estate. Not even close. It's a just a pretty skin on the outside. Sure, you can run reports, but you cannot automate any tasks. There is no integration with other tools (our own or 3rd party). It's not really SaaS either. The dashboard can be assess anywhere, but you will have to install a lot of on-prem infrastructure, which is a major operation. All the new dashboard does is pull a few data points from each system to make a pretty chart. There is no useful license management functionality with automation. If you want to look at data and not actionable tasks, this is the tool for you! A customer would never know this when we demo or POC. So, I am forced to lie to every customer.

Flexera Response

Thank you for expressing your concerns about Flexera One. For a solution this big, the vision will not be realized overnight. Some companies prefer to acquire products and have no plans to integrate those products with organically-developed capabilities. Some companies say they are going to integrate products yet fail to deliver. At Flexera, we are doing what we said we would do when we started on our Flexera One journey years ago. We articulated that we would integrate our market-leading capabilities in IT asset management, SaaS application management, high-quality asset data, cloud cost optimization, and cloud migrating planning. And when we said “integration,” we meant – and still mean – true integration across our technology stack, as well as across the user experience and interface. We have also been clear that delivering this next-generation set of capabilities by way of a SaaS platform is the optimal approach to deliver value to our customers quickly and effectively. As a current Engineering employee, I would also encourage you to help us think about what/how we should or could be doing things differently to better our customers. You can share your ideas/input anonymously on Candor Corner and or reach out to anyone on the People team. We are excited about Flexera One, and we have satisfied customers using it today – with no doubt, many more to come.
