Avoid this place at all costs

Pros

Very few. I'd say that this place is probably only good for people with kids that just want an easy 9-5 so they can get home to their families or someone who's about to have a baby and go on maternity/paternity leave. Other than that, the location is convenient as it's right in the middle of the city.

Cons

Where do you even start? There is a lot of churn, especially with the sales team. I'm not sure if this is because people can't sell the product and are not hitting their numbers or simply because people just want to leave, but it happens a lot. Politics seems to also play quite a role here, especially when egos get in the way. There are some talented engineers, but I've heard some code bashing in my short time here. When it comes to people leaving, the things I've been told from old coworkers make it seem like the company cares very little about their employees. Those who were let go commonly complain about the meager severance package, and sometimes the circumstances seem a bit shady. We rarely hear about any exits, even those of executive staff. Lastly, I would say that there is a distinct lack of culture here. About a year ago, we acquired a startup called Klout. Klout was filled with young, energetic employees and it seemed like it was an earnest attempt to not only bolster product offerings from Lithium, but also to inject some youth and culture into the company. Sadly, within 4 months, most of this had been stomped out. I'm not sure how many are left, but I think almost all of those employees have left Lithium (it's worth noting that there was an earlier acquisition of a team in Austin, but instead of coming to SF, they were allowed to remain a satellite office and they seemed to have maintained their company culture).

Pros

You will make use of your skills at work and will learn something.

Cons

Well I am the employee who was back stabbed by the Executive team at Lithium. The clause was well documented on the contract but they failed to honor what was written. When asked why they could not hold their end, all I was told is its not my decision. Its so surprising that they filed my H1 on April 1st and when it got picked on May4th they started the process to cancel it. Can any of the e-team members explain what was the rationale behind filing it in April for it to be revoked a month later? CEO of this company announced that Lithium would bring me back to US, in all hands meeting on Feb 20th and got credit for how things were handled with my relocation. And later when I reached out to him asking to honor the contract, he literally turned a blind eye towards me and eventually my H1 was revoked shattering my career and personal life. I strongly DO NOT recommend anyone joining this company. Best example for bait and switch. When they had to relocate me they chose the cheapest location so that they can get the same work done at a different location at a low price. I wanted the entire company to know about hypocrisy and double standards followed by the e staff here. They shamelessly deleted the email from everyone's mailbox before they could read it. Lithium, is this the transparency you boast off on your company's website? They claim honest, transparency, no bs on their website but all they stand for is hypocrisy, double standards and bs attitude towards employees. The head of the offsite location even threatened me with legal action if I spoke about this in the tech community. I wish I did not work for this company.

Awful Place, terrible leader, unclear vision, Klout what?

Pros

Cool San Fran office, nice perks, pockets of really good people (who are all looking for new jobs). The LiNC conference is excellent

Cons

CEO is not to be trusted- I love how he responds to the negative posts on Glassdoor with "sorry you feel this way, you should come talk to me about your review" Oh sure - you are such an approachable guy, I'll get right on your calendar. The CRO is not inspiring and hiring his big company friends which is radically changing the culture. Worst turn over I've ever seen -particularly in sales. No clear vision - stop focusing on IPO and start focusing on hitting your quarterly number for a change. It's a highly political environment (coming from the top). And the Klout acquisition has been a total bust! All that has come out of it is dilution of our share price, a complete obliteration of the Klout employee base and lots of head-scratching both internal to LIthium and within the market.

Wow, sounds like you have had a tough run here. Anyone who wants to get on my calendar can. I am always eager to hear feedback. Not much I can do if you don't try. Our CRO is a phenomenal leader and a great change agent for the Company, and he continues to drive unbelievably strong accountability at so many levels. My suggestion to you is to try to resolve your issues by addressing them directly with your managers or find somewhere else where you can be productive.
