Pros

Remote Work, Some other Benefits

Cons

This company doesn't value their employees at all. They expect their employees to go above and beyond - but employees can't expect to get compensated for working overtime or taking on more and more responsibilities. Almost everyone I know is working overtime due to a very high workload and the lack of staff. The worklife balance is basically non-existent. They promote their workplace as a great place to grow but getting promoted or switching into other roles within the company is almost impossible. They simply don't offer new opportunities to grow and rather try to sell the idea of taking on more responsibilities and learning something new without a raise. The management is trying to encourage the employees to come with new ideas for improvements. But whenever these are provided by the employees, management considers it as "nagging". Management becomes threatening when employees mention that they consider reaching out to HR and will discourage employees from doing so. The monthly future forums usually only focus on Sales/Business Growth but never put their own employees in focus. People working in support functions are often completely left out and rarely get any recognition. Previous annualy bonuses and salary increases have been cancelled or put on hold. There have been multiple sudden lay-offs during the past 12 months. Toxic and mentally draining work environment.

Pros

Good pay, people stay for a while, you are given an opportunity to be left alone but its almost as bad as you get zero support.

Cons

No bonus structure, not a good 401K plan, PTO questionable as it is expected to work on every PTO day due to needs of the client. Senior leaders fed staff to go on Glassdoor to give good reviews. Rarely saw senior leadership and only had weekly phone calls with the direct manager which is normal. PRO typically sits by and not act because of their place as a vendor. Zero support in field. Huge lack of diversity - no color, diversity, or LGBT representation. Calls and requests for meetings with senior leaders would go unanswered. The entire company operates in a very conservative manner in dealing with client issues, innovation, and delivery of services. Zero culture and no value system for the organization.

Pros

The company as a whole might be a good one but if you are in a toxic department you won't see any pro's for working here.

Cons

The environment within their payroll department is one of the most toxic environments I've witnessed. My first day I was told to not use my actual job title because it upset someone in the department who was not given the same title. I was not permitted to use my official job title until after this person received their promotion. Do not start an employee off on their first day telling them someone on the team already dislikes them. Not that I think it would matter because the employees (90%) that have been with that department for awhile (small handful since the turnover is so high in this department) are not there to be team players. The amount of negativity spread just from a few select individuals would not permit anyone to come into that department and feel anything positive. The work load is extremely unbalanced and management is a joke. I was told that "the department is better than it used to be but we just can't seem to make it any better." That basically sums up this department and I don't foresee it ever getting better based on the management and senior team members they have with the exception of one. I read all the reviews about PRO before accepting their offer (which as management liked to remind me they "jumped through hoops" to get me hired...that was their choice to make.) and thought based on the reviews of other departments it would be worth the gamble. Biggest mistake of my career. Not only did it suck the life out of me for 7 months but it was also a step backward in my career as it's mainly data entry and customer service. I will never recommend anyone work for PRO within their payroll department.
