Pros

Incredible coworkers, the best customers

Cons

Leadership is horrendous with absolutely no true experience or direction- just friends of friends being hired, executives abuse HR and retaliate when complaints are made, higher-ups hold no accountability, support for ICs is next to 0, company culture isn't a priority to the company whatsoever, layoffs are handled disgracefully, managers mock their own teams in meetings, no internal growth, badly handled escalations, no support offered but sky-high metrics expected to be met, severely isolated teams, weaponized incompetence from managers to the max, condescending directors and VPs, no recognition or upward mobility for anyone under a VP level, customers constantly let down and ignored, layoffs done with a smirk and no compassion

Hazardous for your career, and a masterclass in poor leadership

Pros

- In my experience, pay was fair - Remote work means very little oversight from management - Some really incredible individual contributors at the company - Amazing customers to serve

Cons

- Inept and clueless leadership from the very top all the way down, seemingly never making the right decisions and pointing fingers as problems continue to develop - No identity or functional plan forward for the company. Odeko does not focus on tech, it does not focus on supply delivery quality, and it becomes hard to see what the company DOES focus. - Inability to consistently keep a single promise made to our customers, leading to a universally hated reputation among the coffee industry - Lack of internal communication leads to tons of 'dropping the ball', and double effort on initiatives that are never realized - Nobody looks out for employees or customers. This place seems like it is being used as a resume builder for the entire c-suite rather than trying to run a successful business - No effort for diversity and inclusion on any level.

Pros

The customers seemed really great. Independent coffee shops.

Cons

They say they are a tech company but in fact they are a distribution company and they're not even doing that well based on customer feedback. Leadership: If leadership is an art, then these folks are scribbling stick figures with crayons. One of the leaders on the supply side is actually running the company. Hired a bunch of their Amazon buddies. Get ready for regular gaslighting in meetings and anxiety inducing group slacks. A masterclass in creating a toxic culture. The amount of new initiatives and constantly shifting priorities is nauseating. Although, it really doesn't matter in the end because adding additional revenue streams with all these new initiatives is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. To summarize: If you're looking for a workplace where leadership is a comedy of errors, where the culture is as toxic as a Chernobyl tour, and where shifting priorities is the company's favorite sport, then look no further. (Love the 5 star reviews from the people team though- can't blame them for trying)
