CEO is very defensive

Pros

Great people, great clients Pretty good compensation for the market Great healthcare

Cons

Very hard to get a promotion or raise RTO policy changes every month or so and the CEO Arthur is very defensive about RTO concerns from non-executive employees. Seems like they make decisions at will and don’t actually confer with day-to-day employees. It’s easy to make decisions and feel confident when you just received a $12 million bonus (while the rest of the company is on a bonus and raise freeze to boot) but for the rest of us it feels very micromanaging and patronizing.

Pros

European PTO policies, pretty good health plan, they have an annual xmas party that is fun

Cons

Intelligence, honesty, integrity, hard-work, finding creative solutions to difficult problems, saving the company money, none of these matter one iota. You know how you know that your work is valued? Because your boss will just pile more and more on until you're fried. No promotions, not even basic cost of living raises, its a complete disaster in terms of awarding talent. You know who gets promoted and fat raises? The manager types who can't do anything but manage, brownnose, and take credit for your hard work, that's who gets rewarded. There are so many people in management who are complete frauds at this point its a precarious house of cards poised to come crashing down when the talented folks realize they can do much better elsewhere. The office politics at this place are next level and the people making the decisions at the higher levels would rather play those games than learn anything about what their teams are doing so they can provide guidance. Recently they got rid of the generous PTO package and replaced it with this ridiculous "take what you need" format. Sounds great huh? Nope, its been scientifically proven that employees on this kind of plan take less vacation. Plus all vacation is at your boss' discretion so its really not as you need it its as he/she needs it. A complete joke. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone I liked.

Beasts of burden

Pros

Your coworkers are the only thing that make it worth it

Cons

This company and the out-of-touch CEO in particular put so much burden on you as an employee: Demand that you return to office (regardless of your input) without supplying the right resources to ensure an efficient and accomodating environment. Not enough seats, working external monitors, or conference rooms. No personal desks - still hot desks. No ergonomic chairs and only a limited number of standing desks. Demand you complete hours of compliancy training on topics from harassment to disability accomodations but discriminate against employees with chronic illnesses, requiring you to put an end-date for remote work agreements on your accomodation forms - even if if your chronic illness has no end. Will throw out your request if you leave end-date as undefined even with a doctor's note. And they also require you to provide the note as quickly as possible and will throw out your request if not even if you can't get in to see a doctor in time. Demand you be a part of culture activities as a reason to be back in the office even if it takes up valuable client time (will hold back promotions if you don't show face - this is the CEO's primary reason for forced RTO), all while encouraging you to take on extra UNPAID DUTIES like using your educational stipend. How are we supposed to spend more time in the office on top of additional education? Then, of course, if you do use your stipend, you're trapped working there for at least a year in a hostile working environment because you'll be forced to pay it back if you leave early.
