Pros

It’s hard to put into words what this company means to me. I found my heart, soul, and joy for this industry here—over and over again. I started at the very beginning, an entry-level lifeguard and swim instructor who wasn’t the best student but a passion for getting my hands dirty, being around water, and bringing people together through experiences and events. I had no idea that my journey would evolve into becoming an Operations Manager, then a Vice President, to an Senior VP. Being a brand-new female leader was something I wasn’t sure I could do—but my team and the peers around me helped me find my “we.” They reminded me that leadership isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about growing together, lifting others, and showing up for one another. I’m incredibly thankful to this company for taking a chance on me—for giving me a few inches and letting me run miles. Along the way, I’ve learned, stumbled, grown, and continue to be challenged every single day. I’m not just learning—I’m also asked to teach, to mentor, and to help others grow with me.The job, to me and to many, is about respecting the past, accepting responsibility, and paying it forward. And this company truly lives that. It’s genuine, real, and meaningful. To have found a community here during a time when I wasn’t sure who I was or what I wanted—and to still be evolving today—is a gift. Our frontline staff is incredible, and our C-Suite is filled with some of the most authentic, kind, and strong mentors I’ve ever worked with. I’m forever grateful—not just to have had a job here, but to have been given the space to build a career, a family, and a life. Working for this company and being part of the sports, outdoor recreation, and active lifestyle industry is something truly special—and something I’ll always be proud of. If you’re looking for a place to grow, to belong, and to discover both your career and your purpose...Bay Club is where you’ll find not just your community, but your home.

Pros

Free gym membership & club access.

Cons

NO raises NO accountability NO communication And once more, louder for those in the back...NO raises. If you are started at minimum wage, you stay at minimum wage. CONSTANT lies. OLD BOYS CLUB - not many women in top positions. Hmmmmm...why is that? CEO insists on making all decisions, therefore nothing gets done. Local club was run with constant threats, fear, intimidation. TOXIC. Purposely understaffed to save a buck. Squeeze every last ounce of energy out of staff. Take the other 500 reviews with a grain of salt. Management INCENTIVIZED staff to write these reviews. Most hospitality companies have a customer is always right mentality. Not the Bay Club. The Bay Club is always right. Hmmmm....I wonder why so many members quit??? Again...constant lies. Dangling promises of higher wages/promotions that never happen.

Pros

I met some of my best friends while working at the Bay Club. Free membership

Cons

The Bay Club used to be a great place to work but it changed. I used to feel appreciated and valued but it turned into a company that was all about the money and profits; even if it meant doing some unethical things to the loyal members and the staff. I was working myself to the point of being unhealthy and it was taking a toll on my personal life and quality of life. I was coming home exhausted after a 10+ hour day (excluding commute time), continuing to work from home (as strongly recommended from senior management), then going back to work and being told that, "we need more INTENSITY from you!" and "stop being so lackadaisical" even though I was working harder then I ever had. As a salaried manager, my hourly wage worked down to below minimum wage if I did the math for the hours I was actually working. To sum it all up: overworked, underappreciated, underpaid, unrealistic expectations then criticized when not achieved.
