Pros

No pros come to mind.

Cons

The RTO policy is unfair. Employees who have always been remote are being forced to report to an office 3 days per week without any pay adjustments. HR is considered the villain even though our ELT made this decision. Reaks of their privilege. Impacted HR employees are expected to sell this policy change, but HR leadership hasn't given us the courtesy of acknowledging how we feel. While we celebrate that others get to share their opinions openly even though it isn't aligned with the enterprise approach, we can not. That would be career-ending for us. The weight of cleaning up the ELTs mess they caused and leaked is too much. Plus, endless tracking and changes and tracking and changes....no answers. Simply, "we expect people to leave and we're okay with that". Sound like an employer you'd want to work for?

Good People, Dumb HR Direction

Pros

Like any large company, some of this is going to depend upon where you are. In a prior role, something like training got very hard to come by. Currently it is very easy to get top-notch training. -Many very smart people to work with -Lots of challenges and opportunities to work with interesting technology -Great learning/development/training opportunities -If you are fortunate enough to not be within ~25 miles of an office, great work/life balance (at least where I am) - 401(k) 100% match of first 6% plus 2% floor - Lots of PTO

Cons

HR makes some really bad choices. The pandemic choice of not allowing employees to roll vacation or sell it back when this had been an option all the years prior was a big miss. Upper management was very disconnected to the struggles of working families during this time. (UM: This is great, I'm taking the time to paint my house! ME: You must not have 5 kindergarteners trying to remote learn with a paid college student actively destroying your place...) Mandatory return to the office 3 days a week if too close to an office is a huge miss. A lot of good people are going to leave over this one if the policy is not changed. Can be very hard to get things done due to process, bureaucracy, and agilling the heck out of everything.

Pros

-Great team with diverse experience -Direct manager and his manager are both fantastic -Willing to acquire new technologies

Cons

C-suite is either clueless or simply does not care at all about the employees. Benefits were just torpedoed and work from home is being taken away for anyone within a 25-mile radius of a company office. Note that this does not mean the office where their team works, as I have been aligned to an office where no one else from my team is.
