Pros

Decent dental insurance, easy to get hired as a seasonal.

Cons

You are on the phone all day so you have almost no opportunity to interact with your co-workers. It is very difficult to get anyone to help you if you have questions. Everything you do is monitored; your calls are recorded and scored, the percentage of time you are logged into the phone is calculated to the point where you begin to feel like you shouldn't take the time to go to the bathroom. The differential in pay from TSR to CSR is only fifteen cents which is insulting. Annual increase is around 15-20 cents per hour. The customers are ANGRY, I've never seen anything like it. You have to bend over backwards and take it. When a catalog is coming out they require the full time employees to work 48 hours per week; however if it's not as busy as expected they start sending people home. One day I was sent home after 2 hours; didn't even make enough that day to pay for my gas. I would not encourage anyone to work there.

Pros

Location, brand heritage and identity.

Cons

Very insular, closed minded management team who has worked together for 10+ years. Little support provided by manager; general lack of respect for time management and project completion. Expected to be "on call" at all times

Pros

Customers are in love with the company except for prices and quality, and get treated well. Employee discounts are generous, but need to be for any employee to afford to buy anything here. Selling things people remember as kids is a hit.

Cons

Management philosophy is as outdated as the products we sell. Employees are squeezed really hard to do more and more with less help every year. Hiring provides only very low-skilled people to save money on salaries. New president is the former finance guy and is a penny pincher and it is wearing away at the staff in many departments. Only concern is bottom line, no genuine concern for finding quaity employees.
