Pros

I love Tiffany, always have and always will. I loved my job, most of my coworkers, most of the products, and most of the clients. The discount is great, most people will take part time/seasonal work for the discount alone. The pay is decent after 1 year, but it takes some time to build up. The pressure to buy everything Tiffany sucks away your income. The stories are great. The few corporate trainings (once a year) and client entertainment opportunities (maybe once a year) are fun, but far and few between.

Cons

Manipulation, racism, and laziness. Oh and the in store traffic is down about 50% across the country. The worst part about my experience was the blatant racism, sexism, favoritism, and political upheaval in almost every team. Every sales staff has their issues, but Tiffany is consistent with all of their teams in these categories. A lot of the times you'll hear reviews on here where people say "they don't care about you they just care about the numbers". The management will pretend to care, sit down and hold your hand and tell you everythings going to be ok, to get you back out there selling as hard as you can, then a week later they break the news sheepishly that whatever the problem is, is still a problem and nothing could be done about it and oh well time to move on. This is a consistent form of strategy with management and communication for sales disputes, customer service issues, payroll issues, vacation time, sick time, etc. The 'lets talk about it, go away, ok sorry cant do anything bye' strategy is implemented on a daily basis to get you to shut up. There is 'growth' opportunities in that most of middle management has been with the company for 5-10-20 years, which is great because they have knowledge on the product, but they move incredibly slow compared to the new management talent a lot of competing brands acquire. Management is very stuck in their ways, follow the manual from the 90's, any HR issue is relayed about 15 times until the staff gives up. There's a lot of miscommunication and over-communication and no result. Sales are wayyyyyyyyyyyy down from years ago, they're waddling through a worse slump than the recession in 08. The company rolls out 100's of new products, jumbles the prices, doesn't take away old products. Customers are overwhelmed and disinterested, the brand is fading. The company survives on the Asian business, so if you're CHinese in America, the company will hire you and treat you like royalty. Everyone else is just commonfolk hired to assist the Chinese in their takeover. Trump is a fan of Tiffany for a reason. ....

Pros

The benefits are good, corporate office is new and in a nice location,

Cons

The first years of my career at Tiffany under Mike Kowalski were amazing. I had exceptional management and a steady career progression. Once Mike retired the new leadership destroyed the company culture and rejected tenured employees. New management is awful and they do not respect their employees. The work-life balance disappeared and it was expected that you stay until you collapsed. My boss routinely worked 7am-9pm every single day, even when she was out on maternity leave, which I believe is illegal. You are expected to "lean in" even though they pay peanuts. Be prepared to cry on a daily basis - the amount of crying that took place on the 10th, 11th & 13th floors is very telling. The way people speak to each other is full of condescending mean-girl attitudes. Management is so worried about their own jobs that they totally ignore their direct reports and are they are ostracized. The downfall of the stock over the last year is a huge tell to this sinking ship. Tiffany is famous for grossly under paying its employees and I had been told many times by HR that I was lucky to work there and that there were a line of girls out the door who would kill for my job. HR!

Pros

Good discount, beautiful products, fun events and truly amazing coworkers

Cons

The absolute worst people to work for, from the top down. The amount of stress and pressure the higher ups put on the directors and management team filters down and creates a tense and stressful environment for everyone on the staff. Everyone lives in a constant state of distress and fear, people leaving or getting fired for “time and attendance” every other day, not a single person in that building feels safe or secure and it’s clear this is no accident. Fear mongering and psychological warfare are just a few of the tactics this company’s leaders wield to gain and retain control over their staff. This company is unrecognizable from the time I started there to when I left a few years after the acquisition. The amount of staff, managers and leaders included, who have been discovered literally sobbing behind hidden doors and in dark corners of that gargantuan building is abominable. The higher ups don’t seem to want a single beating heart on their leadership team, and it shows in how heavy the energy is throughout that entire building. I hope for everyone’s sake it improves significantly, but unfortunately after my years at the company I’m incredibly doubtful.
