I have to work 55 hours a week. When I break my salary down, I might as well serve in a staff position. The culture is such that you have to work so much and you are judged if you want a work life balance. They are prioritizing physician well being and providing them paid time off for paternity/maternity leave up to $30,000. The management team isn’t provided anything guaranteed- you must save your time.

While the hospital is rated well, their clinics - especially primary care clinics - are managed quite poorly. There is a clear hierarchy amongst employees. At a recent meeting the question was posed, "who is thinking of leaving their job at UW Health?" More than 80% of the employees (including doctors) raised their hands. Consider working at (or getting your care from) Wildwood Family Medicine, GHC or even Dean.
