Pros

Holliday's, friendly co-workers, low stress if you are not trying to advance in the company. Overall ok place for a student who needs a stable part time job with consistent hours and OK pay. Retirement is also good.

Cons

Pay is low, but probably comparable to the credit union industry. Like most companies there is a very political environment when trying to advance, unfortunately, it is more apparent because the company is so small. If you aren't a "favored employee" you will have a hard time advancing even though you may be more qualified or have a longer tenure than others. Hiring standards are not consistent. Senior Management is disconnected from the branches, which is not apparent if you are a low level employee but, once you are in a management level it is easy to see the disconnect between senior management and mid-level. Really not a great career company, and those who do choose UCCU as a career are in for a slow monotonous day to day career.

Pros

The pay is ok and the people you work with are awesome

Cons

Management sucks. The only good trainer in their onboarding team was fired. They are super nice to you the first couple days and then forget about you the rest of the time. the 2 head supervisors act like they’re above everyone else and when you have a question they make you feel like you’re dumb. Any time you need to take time off they’re rude about it. If you’re not buddy buddy with management then you’re pretty much screwed. It takes them forever to answer your messages and they’re on your case bout coming coming back from lunch or breaks right to the minute but if you need things rescheduled because of calls go over they take forever to do so.

A good job, but never a career

Pros

the 401K and longevity of the company are good

Cons

Learn to value your employees. I have watched sever things happen at UCCU that were down right illegal, and had my spouse not been the kind peace keeper they are, I would have reported to both the state and to a private lawyer. From unfairly changing one employee compensation package because they made to much. To changing a persons job with out any warning or discussion, and then when approached said they would work it out, and just ignored it. On another occasion a VP of the company told a woman who asked for a raise that "your making enough for a woman your age in Utah county" the list goes on and on.
