Pros

Making the world pretty hot tubs just isn’t worth your dignity and your soul. You'll be sucked into a vortex of vindictive ineptness. But if that's your jam....that's a pro.

Cons

The culture is bizarrely oppressive, with the executive team largely made up of WASPs and one female whose claim to fame is targeting employees she doesn't like, derailing careers and driving out those who want to innovate or challenge 'how we do things'. Very few on the executive team have worked outside of Watkins and as a result have almost no perspective. They’ve gotten away with atrocious, discriminatory, retaliatory behavior for decades. Any ethical complaints against the executive team or culture, while ‘investigated’, are swept under the rug, with the remaining employees suffering the wrath of those who spoke up against the discriminatory behaviors of the leadership team in the first place. This place is a mess.

Pros

Good benefits and seemingly friendly environment. Nice offices. Ample parking space. Good level of stress, yet pace of progress is slow as there is focus on the minutiae. Company has good wellness program. MASCO affiliation. Rigorous processes.

Cons

If you’re not in the inner circle, then you’re fully out in the cold on your own! Claim a motto to make the best better, yet senior management is closed to new ideas, except the ones they are inclined to listen to. Gossip. No proper feedback mechanism. Parochial company. Strong hierarchy, and an unwritten rule to respect it!

Pros

- Executive vision, strategy and goals are clearly articulated and communicated - Excellent benefits & bonus compensation based on performance; consistently high bonus pay-outs - Challenging, fast-paced work environment as the company is in transformation - Good people, very intelligent marketers, solid values across the company, fairly strong collaboration - Masco (Fortune 250) owned company, bringing lots of support for new marketing initiatives

Cons

- Entirely dependent on your role, there are occasional work/life balance issues due to big launches/projects. Most people seem to work a true 8-5pm schedule, which means work-life balance is pretty good across the company - Lack of clear career development opportunities historically, though this is changing for the better - Could benefit from additional efforts to create risk-taking culture - Some tenured employees come across as not very engaged or challenged by their managers and this can be discouraging, especially to hard-working newcomers would like to see opportunities opened up for advancement
