Product management and engineering executive management are so bad at vision, prioritization, and expectation setting that the burden of executing to plans which everyone knows are impossible falls to you, the lowly individual contributor. You will be in an endless death march, pushed through manipulation and passive-aggressive corporate politics to ship solutions you know are bad. You've said they're bad and nobody cares. You said they'll increase the cost of doing business going forward and that is ignored in favor of disingenuously checking off a deliverable on the roadmap. Next quarter when it's even more difficult for you to deliver due to the cumulative bad decisions piling up everywhere in this organization you'll be penalized for doing a poor job.
