On August 24, 2020 we will mark our 95th year in business. We started our operations in 1925, when we were founded as the Mutual Automobile Insurance Company of the Town of Herman. "Over 95 years, we have built a foundation based on technology, relationships, and underwriting that will catapult us to the future. We're excited about what lies ahead," said Ben Salzmann, Acuity President and CEO.
We are very proud to again be named to the 2020 Ward’s 50 list of top-performing property-casualty companies, putting the company in the top 2 percent of insurers nationwide. “Strength, stability, and consistency in an insurance company have never been more important than today,” said Ben Salzmann, Acuity President and CEO. “We are honored to be recognized by Ward Group for 21 consecutive years as a top performer, which demonstrates our ability to fulfill our promises to customers and grow our business.”
As a result of strong business growth, we plan to hire 100 employees in the next year. “We are increasing our staff not just to respond to our strong growth, but as an investment in our future,” Ben Salzmann, Acuity President and CEO. “We need to have all the resources in place to serve a growing customer base and to fulfill our mission of rebuilding shattered lives, propelled by innovation, grounded in relationships.”
We are proud to have earned the ACORD Millennial Women's Insurance Advancement Award and the ACORD Case Study Award. "Acuity focuses on creating a workplace culture that promotes growth and advancement of employees of all ages, genders, and backgrounds," Ben Salzmann, Acuity President and CEO. "Our workplace initiatives have had a significant impact on staff recruitment, development, and retention, including millennial women."
Our support of the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center's NICU is something we are very proud of. The NICU has helped the community, including a few Acuity families, by allowing parents of children in need of intensive care to stay here in Sheboygan, instead of having to travel to Green Bay or Milwaukee. This is why we are donating $2.5 million to the new Aurora Medical Center Sheboygan County hospital to support the construction of a new Acuity Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Acuity Pediatric Unit, and the Acuity Birthing Center. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vM0N2
We are humbled to be named to the inaugural Forbes list of America's Best-in-State Employers 2019 and ranked #2 in the state of Wisconsin. At Acuity, people feel both joyful and relevant. We are humbled that our people continue to share how they feel about working at Acuity, and we are all thrilled to be part of a wonderful work environment.
