Three Airgas associates from the South Region volunteered at Turtlepalooza, an event organized with the Miami Dade County Park Sea Turtle Conservation Program. Volunteers removed marine debris from the shoreline, including microplastics that pollute our oceans and harm marine life, such as the endangered sea turtles. Thank you to our associates for donating your time! #CitizenatWork

This #MilitaryAppreciationMonth, we recognize the 1,100 veterans, along with their military families, who currently work for Airgas and support our organization. These valued associates are integral to our ongoing success. We’re proud to be a Military Friendly® employer and are honored to have received the Gold Designation once again for 2024. We’re also grateful to be celebrating 16 years of our ongoing partnership with Operation Homefront to support active-duty personnel and their loved ones. Kevin Garner, a Senior Driver Recruiter who co-leads our North Division Veterans Network shares, “Military Appreciation Month is a great opportunity to honor our heroes both past and present. The willingness of America's veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude.” Extending our deepest thanks and appreciation to all service of the members of the armed forces, past and present. We appreciate your bravery and dedication.
We’re excited to announce that the Airgas High School Welding Education Initiative will once again expand to help students across the country prepare to enter welding, engineering and technical careers. For the 2024 academic year, 65 schools from a record 29 states have been selected to participate. We’re also grateful that the schools in this year’s program will receive additional resources to support more students from Airgas suppliers including Hypertherm Associates, Lincoln Electric, Miller Electric Mfg. LLC and 3M. Together, we can collectively prepare job-ready welding program graduates and support the communities in which we operate.
March is Women’s History Month - a time to celebrate the incredible ways women have shaped our society and made significant advancements socially, politically, economically and culturally. Linda Korff, a Sales Support Specialist based in Evansville, Indiana started out in the industry in 1979, working for a company that was later acquired by Airgas. She recalls manually keeping track of customer balances on record cards and charge tickets before sending them back to the home office to be keyed into the “main” computer, with invoices later being printed and mailed to customers. “This was a very male dominated business,” shares Linda. “Generally a woman's role was to answer phones and do the bookkeeping. Women in management or sales positions were just unheard of. However, we have come a long way since the 70's and 80's. I have seen women evolve into many aspects of this industry from sales, to branch managers, to VP positions and more, all the way up the corporate ladder.” Linda, thank you for your 45 years of hard work and commitment to this industry and to Airgas. We take inspiration from you and our other dedicated female associates. #WomensHistoryMonth
Diane Butchart, the Director of Business Development for Airgas Safety, recently sat down with The Welder to discuss women’s PPE, the risks women face when wearing ill-fitting equipment and how Airgas is working to create more PPE products specifically for women. We recognize that there is an unmet, growing need for PPE that properly fits and is designed to fit a woman’s body within the industry. Diane details how Airgas gained valuable women’s PPE insights from a recent internal and external survey, and how we’re using those insights to build up our own women’s PPE collection on airgas.com. Check out the full article in the link below! Our women’s PPE collection on Airgas.com is growing - check back as new products are continually being added!
