After leaving her home state of Idaho to pursue a career in the life sciences, chemist Vanessa (Graham) Belozeroff was used to being one of the only women in the room. Since then, she’s set out to change that. As the global chair of our WE2 women’s organization, Vanessa helps us assess what we need to do to not only support diversity but also inclusiveness. “It’s not just having the people around your table — it’s how you listen, it’s how we all think and process through a global lens." Last week, members of our EHSS (Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability) group sorted through 24 hours' worth of waste generated on our outdoor patios as part of a waste audit, which measures the impact of recycling and composting efforts across our Thousand Oaks campus.
