Archbold’s Mitchell County Hospital and Mitchell Convalescent Center recently named Joy Miller and Latasha Jackson the 2020 Employees of the Year, respectively. Miller is the Quality Assurance and Infection Control Coordinator at MCH. “During the COVID-19 pandemic, Joy worked around the clock researching and planning to keep our employees and patients safe and up to date on all procedures,” said Carla Beasley, Administrator at Mitchell County Hospital. “She is an outstanding employee and we are glad that she’s a part of our team.” Jackson is an administrative assistant at MCC. “Latasha goes beyond her job duties to help other employees, as well as our residents,” said Tina Bates, Administrator at Mitchell Convalescent Center. “She is an asset to our facility and we’re so glad that she was awarded this recognition.”
Archbold’s Brooks County Hospital recently named Kortney Thomas their 2020 Employee of the Year. Kortney is the Assistant Director of Nursing at BCH. “Kortney continually goes above and beyond for patients and our staff,” said June Furney, Administrator at Brooks County Hospital. “She is a valued employee and we’re so proud to recognize her as our Employee of the Year.”
Kaleigh and Allen Glass know the inexplicable grief that comes with the loss of a child. February 24th, 2021 Kaleigh and Allen came to Archbold Memorial Hospital due to preterm complications. Emerson Rae was delivered by emergency cesarean section but was unable to be resuscitated. "When we lost Emerson, the nurses here at Archbold gave us the greatest gift they could, time with her," said Kaleigh Glass. Archbold was able to borrow a Cuddle Cot from Grady General Hospital to allow Kaleigh and Allen time to see and hold their daughter. The Cuddle Cot also allowed family members to visit and see the beautiful child they had created. A Cuddle Cot is a cooled bassinet that preserves the newborn's body for 2-3 days longer. Thus, granting grieving families more time with their child. After the loss, the couple was able to raise enough funds to help others in a similar situation to their own. With a sizable donation, the couple purchased a Cuddle Cot for the Archbold Maternity Center and donated additional funds, which will be used towards the development of a future bereavement area fo
Family medicine physician, Mary Watson, MD, has been inducted into the Florida State University College of Medicine/Programs in Medical Sciences Hall of Fame. Dr. Watson was nominated for this honor for her positive impact on patients during pivotal times in their lives, with many citing that they are still alive thanks to her knowledge and quality of care. In addition, Dr. Watson was also recognized for the care she provided to the Blountstown community during and after Hurricane Michael. “The community of Blountstown was extremely fortunate to have Dr. Watson on their provider staff at the time of the hurricane,” said Grady Ramsey, Vice President of Archbold Medical Group. “She continues to be dedicated to her patients and their wellbeing and it shows with this honor.” Dr. Watson sees patients at Archbold’s Medical Group of Mitchell County.

Georgia Trend Magazine named Archbold's Grady General Hospital as one of the best small hospitals in the state, landing fourth in recognition. The 60-bed facility in Cairo, Georgia has earned a spot in the top five small hospital category consistently over the years.

The award is given to a local business with over 15 employees that strives to make an impact on the community. Pelham Parkway Nursing Home is a 108-bed skilled nursing facility who's dedicated staff are committed to safe, quality care for all residents. “Over the past year Pelham Parkway has been on the front-lines of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
