During these uncertain times, it's vital that we come together as a team and community. Today, we spotlight Jenny Manning from Aurora’s engineering team. Jenny highlights our value “No Jerks” and how it drives her work. Now, more than ever, let’s look out for one another and be well. “Safety is at the core of all the work that we do. We’re not only committed to safety in our technology, but also how we build our teams. One of my earliest interactions with a fellow Auroran was an in-depth discussion about the importance of psychological safety on a team. That is, team members feel safe and comfortable voicing their opinions and do not fear being judged or punished. That has been my experience at Aurora. ‘No jerks’ means working with teammates who are honest, kind, and accepting. We take sincere effort to view and understand things from another’s perspective.” At Aurora, we are proud of our “no jerks” value. Times like these remind us to support and care for one another. Be kind.
As we continue to feel the impact of COVID-19, this week and the ones ahead of us will be different. At Aurora, we will continue to support each other, put the needs of our families first, and execute with excellence. Though our physical offices are temporarily closed, our development and virtual testing work continues. Now, more than ever, it’s important to stay connected by communicating openly, honestly, and often. I sent the email below to everyone at Aurora, sharing that none of us are alone and that even when we feel unsettled, we can rely on one another. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/my-thoughts-covid-19-chris-urmson/?trackingId=yKdCFIEutYiN1O3R3lxsYQ%3D%3D
