California Agent is fixing tech, teaching fitness Three years ago, Geek Squad Agent Kriegon Newby visited his uncle in California and knew it was where he wanted to be. “After my vacation ended, I sent out applications to California stores,” said Kriegon, who was living in Indiana. He got hired at Store 873 in Colma (near San Francisco), packed his car and drove west. Since then, Kriegon has not only built a life on the coast, but two careers: When he’s not traveling in his Geekmobile helping people with their home technology, he’s helping people reach fitness goals at a studio. “I’m up by 3:45 a.m. I coach three classes in the morning, and then I work my nine to five at Best Buy,” Kriegon said. Atrium Health and Best Buy Health are combining their strengths to develop new hospital at home offerings that will enhance the patient experience of receiving hospital-level care in the home. Best Buy has been named to the JUST 100 list for the third year in a row, and we’re proud to be the top retailer on the 2023 list. The JUST 100 list evaluates and ranks nearly 1,000 of the largest publicly traded companies in the U.S. on such issues as how a company invests in its workers, supports its communities and minimizes environmental impact. JUST Capital and its partners compile the annual list by polling 3,000 Americans to identify issues they think companies should focus on most. Then companies are evaluated based on those priorities. This year, polling numbers showed that workers and wages are important and accounted for a large percentage of companies’ scores. We believe our efforts to make a positive impact in the environmental, social and governance (ESG) area are not only the right thing to do, but are good for business. Read the full story.

Best Buy opens more than 40 new Experience Stores ahead of holidays Our new Experience Store concept serves as an inspirational destination to help customers discover, learn about and use the latest tech. From immersive demo areas to our newest product categories, these stores offer something for everyone. It’s one of the many ways we’re reimagining our stores to meet our customers’ changing needs. We first began testing the new store format in Houston in 2020 and later added additional pilot locations, including one in Charlotte, North Carolina. The results were clear: Customers love it. We’re wrapping up construction and plan to introduce these newly redesigned stores in more than 40 locations across the country just in time for the holidays. “For some technology, the best way to know if it’s the right fit for you and your home is to see it in person and get that immersive and inspirational experience,” said Damien Harmon, executive vice president of omnichannel at Best Buy.
