Originally impressed with the Bosch brand as a consumer, Senior Health, Safety & Environment Engineer Robert Morales joined the company 10+ years ago eager to contribute to sustainability initiatives. Pittsburgh sports fanatic, avid golfer and lover of animals and the arts, Robert enjoys supporting Bosch facilities to achieve their goals including safety, carbon neutrality and zero waste to landfill certifications.
Passionate about sustainability of wildlife and natural resources, Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator Erin May focuses on ensuring associates understand the “how” and “why” behind safety and environmental policies. “It’s great to work for a company that not only supports environmental sustainability, but also encourages associates to share ideas that can help minimize our impact.”
Building rain gardens and tending to vegetable beds are a few of the personal sustainability practices Environmental Health & Safety Manager Andrea Peterson upholds. Andrea is proud of the positive impact Bosch sustainability initiatives and Bosch Community Fund programs have on the #environment and the communities in which we operate.
Starting as an intern 8 years ago, Senior Environmental Health & Safety Specialist Rachael Remmers was attracted to Bosch for its foundational values, including responsibility and sustainability. Associates work passionately to reduce environmental impact today and for future generations. “It gives me a great sense of pride and comradery to work on teams that support initiatives in energy efficiency, carbon neutrality, water conservation and waste reduction.”
Having grown up near the Blue Ridge mountains, Associate Product Manager Amanda Nesta is passionate about the environment and sustainability. Working toward a zero waste facility, Amanda founded the Sustainability Committee to promote sustainable initiatives and volunteering opportunities for Bosch associates.
Industry 4.0 is revolutionizing manufacturing. Seeing the potential for I4.0 tools in the plant, Bosch Engineer Chris Fulghum led the implementation of an open observability platform which connects older equipment to modern tools and applications. “Bosch empowers us to improve operations, look to the future and innovate.”
Fervent marathoner, snowboarder and board member of the Invictus Initiative non-profit, Dr. Gladys Anyenya is one of a handful of Bosch fuel cell development engineers in North America. She joined Bosch to explore fuel cell technology in the mobility space at a large, international company. "I thrive in the multi-faceted nature of product development and the fast-paced efforts of getting the product ready to go to market."
“Manufacturing is the perfect environment for innovation. Bosch drives personal initiative through continuous improvement and Industry 4.0 workshops.” Born from a think-tank workshop, Controls Engineer Thiago Sielski led a project to enable real-time data streams for manufacturing robots. The result? Predictive, rather than reactive, maintenance which allows for proactive scheduling of repair windows and accurate inventory management.
Designing strategic technologies for Bosch audio products and brands, Platform Strategist Ethan Wetzell leverages 30 years of knowledge and experience within the audio industry to provide the best possible products and experiences to both users and their audiences. Passionate about helping and teaching others, Ethan says, “Sometimes the smallest moments can have some of the biggest impacts on people.”
Dedicated to digital transformation, Plant Connectivity Architect John Penton drives process improvements to aid in faster problem solving. Seeking out individuals who are passionate about challenging the status quo, John leads an Industry 4.0 team that works with value stream experts to make progress toward the vision for the plant. “Plant management helps remove barriers to allow us to push forward in the field of digital transformation.”
