Having a father who uses power tools for DIY projects, the Bosch brand has been present in Gustavo Garcia’s life since he was small. Professional Development Trainee, Gustavo was attracted to Bosch company culture and work-life balance giving him space to enjoy work-outs, sports and mentoring undergraduate students from his alma mater. Not only has Colleen Karpac, Marketing Operations Manager, completed two international assignments in her career with Bosch, she has also worked cross-functionally within Brand Management, Product Management, Packaging Engineering and Marketing Operations. “All these steps have allowed me to keep my job interesting after 20 years and has provided me diverse experiences that have helped me grow personally and professionally.”

Joining Bosch in 2004, Mondraea Calvin, HR Manager, was promoted 4 times in 10 years. She left to gain experience elsewhere for a few years, yet ultimately returned. “Bosch is better cultural fit for me both personally and professionally.” In addition to her HR responsibilities, Mondraea serves as the President of business resource group AfricanAncestry@Bosch. Together with her husband and two sons, Mondraea enjoys traveling, scrapbooking and community service.
Reader, world-traveler and accomplished triathlete, Business Development Manager Rafael Franca leads the Bosch RefinemySite cloud-based lean-construction collaboration platform in North America. For Rafael, Latinx Heritage Month is an opportunity to recognize the contributions and influence of people from all Latin American countries to the history, culture and achievements that have helped shape the U.S. Originally from Brazil, Rafael admires Jorge Paulo Lemann, a Brazilian investor, who sets a great example in giving back through education programs and philanthropic organizations.
Realizing a need to demonstrate empathy, ignite passion and empower plant associates to think and act like entrepreneurs, HR Manager Javier Aburto, Manufacturing Manager Mario Contreras, and Marketing Manager Jim Perret organized ideation sessions for cross-functional teams to work on potential business ideas and to develop a culture that promotes taking risks. “Failure IS an option. To quickly prototype an emerging technology roadmap, associates from diverse backgrounds participated in a 5-day hackathon. Spearheaded by digital product owner, Eric Acevedo, the "IoT Garage" included a TEDtalk-style Demo Day where participants displayed thought leadership and presented key learnings.
