We were grateful to take part in Fort Lauderdale's Pride 2021 festival earlier this month and could not have had a better time meeting with community members! We’d like to give a big shout-out to our LGBTQ+ Team Member Resource Group, known around Chewy as “The Pride”, who organized and volunteered for our Chewy booth and thank you to all the Chewtopians, pet parents, and neighbors who stopped by.
When it comes to #InterviewTips, our VP of Talent Acquisition, Vivian Dixon knows her stuff! She recently chatted with Business Insider to share her advice for candidates looking to join the Chewy pack. 1. Use your network! Reaching out to other Chewtopians before you apply for a role can really help to open doors and will give you valuable insights into where you might fit best within the organization. 2. Think in big, creative ways from the jump, starting with your resume. Use it to show how great of a match you are for the role you’re interested in to stand out. 3. Prepare, prepare, prepare for that interview! Our Chewy Health team has been hard at work on a brand-new platform that supports both pet parents and the Veterinarian community: Practice Hub! This innovative service acts as a marketplace to help streamline pharmacy operations and grow clinic revenue on behalf of the people who take such good care of our beloved pets.
Being a working parent can be tough, but our teams are always looking for ways to make it easier for one another. Just ask Carter Young, CPA on our Accounting team: "For the 6 weeks before this, I have not worked. Not even a little bit. My boss removed me from our team slack channel, I was removed from almost all chain emails, and there was not a single time I needed to jump in to do something. It was weird. I no longer needed a calendar; I didn't know what day it was half the time. The only thing that mattered was catering to Mikayla's every need. I can't explain how privileged I feel to have been able to take this time to bond with her. This week was my first week back to work. I won't get to hang out with Mikayla as much, but she helps me turn on my computer every morning and has even gotten to join a few meetings so far!"
