"Since its founding in 1993, Chipotle's mindset and approach to food has always been about working with—not against—nature and using real ingredients free of any artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives," said Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer. Our new short film created by Anomaly – Human Nature – “celebrates how Chipotle serves food that is both good for you and better for the planet. Strengthening our connection with nature is key to producing responsibly raised food for generations to come."
We’re proud to introduce a new all-electric restaurant design that uses 100 percent renewable energy, with the first locations in Gloucester, Virginia, Jacksonville, Florida, and a third restaurant coming to Castle Rock, Colorado this summer. The new restaurant design pilot will help us progress toward our science-based targets, established in alignment with Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), to reduce direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions 50% by 2030 compared to a 2019 baseline.
We are honored to be included in Fortune's inaugural list of America's Most Innovative Companies, honoring those transforming industries from the inside out.
Today we announced our 2023 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals tied to executive compensation: -Purchase at least 37.5 million pounds of local produce, up from 36.4 million pounds in 2022. -Improve the retention of its diverse U.S.-based restaurant support center and field operations employees. -Institute composting programs in at least 23 percent more restaurants. This goal aligns with Chipotle’s broader objectives of increasing its diversion rate and reducing waste to landfills by 5 percent by 2025.

It’s officially official! On March 2, Chipotle fans can finally add fresh fajita veggies and their choice of protein to any Quesadilla in the Chipotle app and online – all thanks to top TikTok creators Keith Lee and Alexis Frost who popularized the viral “Fajita Quesadilla Hack” TikTok trend back in late 2022. The fan-favorite Chipotle-Honey Vinaigrette dressing will also be offered as one of the three included side options.
Today we announced a new fresh eatery concept called Farmesa, which features a robust, customizable menu of delicious proteins, greens, grains and vegetables that are inspired by Chipotle’s Food with Integrity standards. Launching in the Kitchen United Mix food hall in Santa Monica, Farmesa will soft open with an abbreviated menu and limited hours before officially rolling out next month.
Chipotle is celebrating Black history and our more than 21,000 team members who identify as Black or African American. We respect and honor the Black community every day, and every year, we commemorate #BlackHistoryMonth in February by helping our community learn more about Black culture and celebrating the accomplishments of Black people at Chipotle and around the world. This month, we are supporting the United Network of Influencers Furthering Inclusion and Ethnic Diversity Employee Resource Group campaign to amplify the stories of our Black team members and inspire conversation around Black History Month's theme of Black Resistance. As we strive toward achieving Black equity as a society, Chipotle's commitment to progress is evidenced by our completion of the first step involved with attaining Management Leadership for Tomorrow's Black Equity at Work Certification. Few companies hold the prestigious distinction of this certification as it is a rigorous program that holds employers accountable to a set of high Black equity standards, both inside and outside of their organization.
