From Women's History Month to International Women's Day (IWD) celebrations, March is a time to champion the collective power of women's voices and drive positive change around the world. This year’s IWD theme is "Inspire Inclusion"! When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world. Today, we inspire inclusion by celebrating women's achievement and collectively working towards a more inclusive world that inspires and empowers women to thrive. We are proud to highlight a few of our colleagues who champion diversity within our walls and beyond. Through their actions, they not only inspire others, but are committed to fostering a culture of equality for all people: "We can inspire inclusion for women by working to achieve better outcomes for all, and continuously encouraging diversity of thought and experiences." - Ndeda L., SVP, Community Dev. Regional Manager "We can inspire inclusion by fostering a culture that elevates diverse perspectives, by advocating for gender equality, and offering support so women can thrive across all dimensions of their lives." - Susan L., Chief Human Resources Officer

Throughout history, the contributions of Black Americans to the arts have been vast. Black Americans have helped shape the artistic fabric of America by infusing a strong sense of identity in areas of the arts that spread outward to the rest of society. These changes bring more than just cultural influence. They often propel economic mobility and growth in the places where Black Americans' creative ideas started. During Black History Month and throughout the year, Citizens commits to strengthening the communities we serve for the future by equipping them with the tools to be made ready for growth and opportunity that can be attributed to developing the arts: • Through our partnership with Artists for Humanity, we facilitate connecting young artists in Boston and New York City with mentors in their fields and help them find paid job opportunities so they can thrive within their community. • We’re a longtime sponsor of Mural Arts Philadelphia, a nonprofit which aims to transform public spaces with a collaborative, restorative art initiative aimed at inspiring a "more just and equitable" city. A local artist and 2021 Mural Arts Fellow, Amir "Amiracle" Campbell, says that, "Working with Mural Arts Philadelphia has empowered me with insight into the value of public art and how it can edify communities." • Through corporate sponsorships, we support programs like the Pittsburgh Jazz Festival and Black Bottom Film Festival in Pittsburgh and Art Start in New York City.
Celebrated by many Asian communities around the world, the Lunar New Year commemorates the arrival of spring and the start of a new year on the lunisolar calendar. Members of Asian American communities around the world organize special family gatherings, parades, carnivals, and musical performances surrounding the 15-day celebration that closes out the previous year, and ushers in the Year of the Dragon. We're proud to have branches located in some of the most diverse and culturally relevant neighborhoods across the country, and we're honored to have had the opportunity to sponsor the Flushing Lunar New Year Parade in New York this past weekend. Additionally, selected branches across our footprint will have red envelopes available for customers when they exchange their dollar bills. Happy Lunar New Year! May this year grant you success, good fortune, and endless opportunity!

We are in our most admired era! For the second consecutive year, we've been named to FORTUNE’s World's Most Admired Companies list, and we couldn't be prouder! This recognition would not be possible without our dedicated colleagues, loyal customers and passionate communities who continue to be #MadeReady - thank you, and we celebrate this with all of you! And this year, we moved up on the list to six out of seven banks in the US Superregional Bank category. This annual ranking is determined by a survey of top executives, directors and analysts rating firms in their own industry. Companies are evaluated based on nine criteria, including investment value, quality of management, products, social responsibility, and the ability to attract talent. This ranking proves that the talent, discipline, ingenuity and foresight of our colleagues enables us to make smart investments in our business, technology and people, positioning our company for future success.
While some might see Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a day off, at Citizens, we see it as a “day on.” It’s an opportunity to come together to honor Dr. King’s legacy, while serving and enriching our communities. We’re committed to partnerships in the arts that create impact and honor King's legacy all year long, investing in partnerships with museums and organizations that work towards developing strong communities, while fostering inclusion and building a sense of belonging. One highlight is our recent $30,000 donation to the African American Museum in Philadelphia (AAMP) to help support its upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. weekend celebration. With this contribution, admission to the Museum on MLK Day (January 15) and associated programming will be free to the public. Local Philadelphia artist, Amir “Amiracle” Campbell painted a portrait of Dr. King for Citizens this fall during the National Black MBA’s Conference, hosted in Philadelphia. The painting, entitled “What Is Your Life’s Blueprint," is a portrait of Rev. Dr. King that will be on display at AAMP throughout MLK weekend, inspired by the eternal principles of beauty, love, and justice as well as his mission to make the world a better place to live for everyone. Learn more about how Citizens is honoring Dr. King’s legacy below.
